This is brilliant for pattern making the best one in my opinion I have one that slightly different but it’s not as good as this. I like the fact that it has zero in the middle working out in centimetres makes it great and useful this is definitely the one to get if you’re pattern making Don’t waste your money on the others this one’s great

I bought this Patternmaster recently as I'm doing more and more dressmaking, and the tools I had for adapting the patterns I use were limited. I'm really pleased with it. It's large, very clear and easy to read, and it has all sorts of curves, straights, and measurements which make pattern drawing so easy. It does have a small negative though, which is why I've not given it five stars. It's quite thick, and I find that stops me getting the most accurate drawings and measurements. It's the best I've got for smooth curves, but I would prefer something longer so I could draw with fewer interruptions to my lines. If you have this as your only pattern-drawing tool you should be ok: but I have bought some very thin, flexible drawing tools now, and use them interchangeably with this one, and so have the best of both worlds. I wouldn't be without any of them, and suggest that a range of tools is better than just one, which is meant to do everything.

Robust and well packaged

I'm really pleased with it. very sturdy with easy to read markings in metric. comes with a protect covering for storage. Definitely worth spending the extra on.

This pattern master is a wonderfully versatile tool. It doesn't bend easily and has good edges to draw against. This has been well loved and used often, consider adding it to your sewing arsenal. The only drawback I can think of if the cm markings can be unclear if you've taken a break from using it for a while, additionally there is an extra 5mm on the small measuring strip, be sure to avoid mistaking this as part of your measurement. As for the sewn sheath, I didn't experience this but a colleague of mine did three weeks after I bought mine. There was no damage to the tool.
