Lightning Bolt-On Thru Axles - Front|15mm |138mm|M14x1.5 - LIG509

Outstanding fitting recommendation. I was looking for a replacement for stock thru-axles to use with a fork-mount bike rack, and to improve overall security for my bike by making thieves need a tool to steal my front wheel instead of just using the lever on the stock thru-axle.The RAP Lightning fit both of those needs. I can now put the bike on my roof without the fixed handle on the stock thru-axle impacting the bar after a half turn, and the front fork looks slick - no protruding handle on either side. Build quality is solid, the threads were an exact match to what was specified, price was reasonable. This will be one of the first upgrades I make as the family's bikes migrate to thru-axles.

This is just what I needed. I have a roof bike carrier a=that clamps down on the axle. The axle that came with my Supersix EVO tapered to a narrower diameter towards the middle. This made it a bit unstable when clamped down in the carrier. This axle is 12mm straight through. Unfortunately I need to pull out a wrench to get this one off (the original had a lever) but I guess that's a theft deterrent. Not as quick of a remove and run kind of thing for a crook.
