Dunno really
No idea really. My father-in-law ordered this while I was away and he was dog sitting. He seemed to enjoy it when I rang to moan at him for spending my money LOL.

"Hardware trailer"
This is not a film its a "trailer" that runs for 13 minutes, but its "funny" this is superb in that its the greatest "homage" to Star Wars everdone!! and on a budget of about $5 dollars,to me it just captures the fun of the late seventies and the excitement and the brilliance of"star wars".Great fun and "just allows you not to think about anything more complex than a mumbling "Narph Nader".Superb in every sense of the word, its just "daft" and a beautiful fan made trailer explaining the film.which does not exist so in a way its a parody of itself!!.Hopefully the full "Hardware Wars" will be made and if Disney (who owns everything Star Wars now) ever green lighted the projectI woud be the first in the queue ha ha ha...I paid about 3 quid for my copy so yes I lost my 3 dollars,i laughed I cried, and the "farce"is always with me ha ha ha......

Gonzo Moviemaking For Revolution
Let's face it, the Fanboys control the major franchises of Hollywood. The corporations and their Technocratic copyright holders may babble on about "intellectual property" and tinker with them ad nauseum in order to placate their own sepsis-drowned ego (Stand up George Lucas, you revisionist), but without the Hive-Mind of the 19 year-old to digest them into popular myth, they'd just be pretty pieces of plastic and chrome.Ignored by the aforementioned T'crats, some incredible fan-constructed "spin-offs" of the Star Wars saga have inundated us recently, thanks to the 'Net and cheap DVD-R disribution, but folks, this is the Grandaddy of them all. Filmed by Fosselius back when Episode IV was fresh and on every Ritalin-infested tyke's lunchbox, it was revolutionary, engrossing and, yes, ultimately hilarious (intentionally, as is the case). Never taking it seriously (no one cared about "official canons" back then), this is real treasure to be placed in honour on your mantelpiece, ready to be taken down and admired when your aunties from Canada drop by.Now, all we need is the much-vaunted kid's remake of "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" to be officially released, and we'd finally accept that it's WE who wear the trousers in the movie-verse (sic). Hope you're listening, Lucasfilm's lawyers... (please don't sue me).

What a Parody! This is Star Wars or should I say "Hardware" Wars
When I saw some of the Jackie Chan films I thought they were hilarious, but this is the funniest thing I've ever seen. Honestly, tears were streaming down my eyes! Did you see "Ham Salad"? How cool was he?! Brilliant! It's so good, I'd reccommend this to any Star Wars fan or comedy fan! Or both! This is class stuff and I wish a sequel was made!

Star Wars Comedy aus der ersten Stunde
Wer kennt nicht Star Wars.. Lucke, Leia, Vader und so weiter. Kurz nachdem Star Wars (A New Hope) in Staaten anlief folgte dieser kurze Film.

"You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll kiss three bucks goodbye!"
Not long after George Lucas' original "Star Wars" film took theaters throughout the world by storm in 1977, a very silly 13-minute long parody entitled "Hardware Wars" was filmed in 1978 by writer/director Ernie Fosselius. The parody, designed as a long film trailer, replaces the authentic special effects and models used in "Star Wars" with low-budget replacements, mostly in the form of household appliances. For example, the Lucas' Millenium Falcon in "Hardware Wars" is an electric iron, the Death Star is a waffle iron, an imperial cruiser is an electric mixer, and the squat droid R2-D2 becomes a canister vacuum cleaner called "Artee-Deco". As with Artee-Deco, the other characters from Lucas' "Star Wars" are transformed in "Hardware Wars" as follows: C3PO becomes 4-Q-2 (like the tin-man from the 1939 "The Wizard of Oz"), Han Solo becomes Ham Salad (Bob Knickerbocker), Chewbacca becomes the Muppet-like Chucilla (similar to the "Sesame Street" cookie monster), Princess Leia becomes Princess Anne-Droid (Cindy Furgatch, who wears round rolls on the sides of her head), Luke Skywalker becomes Fluke Starbucker (Scott Mathews), Obi-Wan 'Ben' Kenobi becomes Augie 'Ben' Doggie (Jeff Hale) and Darth Vader becomes Darf Nader, who is impossible to understand due to his welding-style helmet.Clearly, not everyone who watches "Hardware Wars" finds it funny; but for most sci-fi aficionados, it's totally priceless! One of my favorite scenes is the equivalent of the demonstration of how powerful the Death Star is: instead of blowing up the planet of Alderan, it blows up the planet of Basketball (a literal basketball). Equally ridiculous and funny is the intentionally bad and sometimes melodramatic acting. Of course, you don't want to miss the exciting special effects of "dyna-space", as presented in "Hardware Wars". Consequently, for being a completely hilarious spoof of "Star Wars" filmed on a meager budget of $8,000, I rate "Hardware Wars" with 4 out of 5 stars. It is interesting to note that Ernie Fosselius provided some voice work and some other miscellaneous work in Lucas' 1983 film "Star Wars VI: The Return of the Jedi". Clearly, George Lucas was not upset with Fosselius' parody.
