Spigen Tough Armor Designed for Samsung Galaxy S10 Case (2019) - Black

I had a Spigen case for my S7 Edge and loved it. It did an excellent job of protecting my phone. So, when I bought my S10 Spigen was the first company I searched for. I read some of the reviews and I was skeptical because people had hinted the quality had gone down. Sorry, I'm not seeing that. One of the things mentioned was that the case is slippery. I've noticed that the reviews that mention it are ones that come in colors such as the graphite grey or gunmetal. I ordered mine in black just like the last case I had prior and it's all coated in a rubbery material. If I place my phone with the case on a flat palm it does slide around if I shake it. But, I'm never holding my phone that way. When I grip the sides of the phone it's easy to grip. Even if I shake it pretty hard with a normal grip I still don't have a issue with it slipping out of my hand. I don't know if the other colors are just plain plastic but it's just something I noticed. Also, don't know it if was intentional or not but my thumb rests right over the Bixby button regularly. The button itself has ridges in it. The ridges might have been designed just to make it easier to find the Bixby button in the dark but I feel like it gives me a better grip.The buttons work perfectly. I'll admit the last case I had the buttons were hard push at times but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. I think these buttons actually work better on this case.It's not an overly bulky case, which I really like. I can still fit it in my back pocket just fine (for all you ladies with our tiny useless butt pockets).The kickstand I've never been too thrilled with even though I feel like this one is slightly (slightly!) better.Overall I'm completely satisfied with this case. I'm not disappointed at all and it over-exceeded my expectations. Five stars!June 23, 2020 update: One year later and it still works great.October 3, 2025 update: Don't know if anyone is still reading but my case finally kicked the bucket. The Bixby button fell off and the power button is cracked and probably next to go. Honestly still a 5 star. It did its job. I've dropped my phone quite a number of times and had no issues. This case has been through a lot so what?... 6 years of good use. That'll do Spigen, that'll do.

-This case feels durable and protective. Both soft and hard plastic parts look and function like high quality. The case is just thin enough to retain the sleek nature of the s10 and just thick enough to provide adequate protection.-The button portions are slightly difficult to press due to them being streamlined with the case instead of sticking out.-The kickstand is placed very well. When closed, it's flush with the case. When open, the offset position allows the phone to be stood at a high angle or a low angle. However, it feels flimsy when in the open position.-At first package opening, factory dust on case makes it slippery. After a day of use, the grip increased to a point where it would be difficult to drop the phone while holding it.TLDR; great case for protection, looks nice, feels nice, slim, buttons slightly hard to press, kickstand functionally useful but flimsy, decent grip after day of use.Update: After a month of use, the case still holds up very well. The grip has gotten better. However, an issue arose after consistent use. Pressing the lock button presses the side of the case onto the factory screen protector and slightly peels it off. This causes an unsightly bubble and allows dust to be trapped underneath.

This Spigen case seems to be a great deal for the $$ spent. It's nice and low profile so the phone doesn't practically double in size like some cases. The black one t least has a matte finish that provides a bit of grip too, as I read others mention thesoi7e being slippery the black isn't. Couple of small issues there aren't flaps on the cut out for charging port etc. They used to annoy me, but not as much as having to tweeze dust and shit out of my ports all the time. As for protection, it should do the job as a daily driver, I've had a few small drops already and zero damge to phone or case. The kickstand is there, not much to say about that other than it exists. Only other small gripe is I was expecting the edges to come up farther to protect from straight on screen down drops, although they do provide decent protection as is. It may honestly be due to S10 design with the edge screen. Mom has the exact case for her iphone and the case extends prolly twice as far past the screen. I'd say it's a 4-5 star product, especially factoring in the low pricepoint Hopefully I'll remember to update this aftee a while including the durability, which I felt I had no business reviewing since Ive only had it for a week tops

This is not a bad phone case. It kept my phone safe for a while and survived multiple drops. Started to fall apart after about a year (it got weathered). Not too bulky, it fit well within my pocket. My hand was able to grip it just fine, but after it started to get old and weathered, it would slip out more easily.

Had this case since Aug 2025. Thie phone has been protected from MANY drops including off a running horse to actually falling off the roof of my house (2 floors) when taking down Christmas lights. So either I have been very lucky or this case really is pretty amazing! It is also souch slimer than my old otter box.

Was really impressed with the quality for the price. Feels really sturdy on the phone. Like cases that cost 30 to 40 dollars.

I bought this product because I just got a new Samsung Galaxy S10. What stood out about this case from others that I viewed was actually the sleek design and kickstand that came with it. I was tired of holding phone when on plane trying to watch shows. This case will help with that and make plane rides more comfortable.Case design:It is hard on the outside and a little bit of hard flexible rubber on the inside. I enjoy being able to snap the phone into the case quite easily. I see reviews of people's screen protector that came with phone prop up. This didnt happen to me and the case fit was exact. I also put a magnet inside the case with no problem as I have a magnetic mount in my car.Grip:The grip is well on the side but it is a little slippery on the back as it feels like smooth plastic. As long as you grip on the side then you shouldn't have too much of a problem of it slipping out of your hand.Design:The design and use of buttons are pretty simple to utilize. You have to press slightly harder to use the buttons but it is still very easy to use. The extra protection on the whole phone is worth it. Even though the design of this case appears to be pretty slick but the weight is quite a bit on it. That's the downside that I would complain about. The weight can be trimmed down if they want to make a revised version. There's a slight lip to the bottom and top of case so if you drop your phone it may provide some protection.Overall, I really enjoy this case on my new phone and it looks sturdy from drops that can occur when using this phone. I recommend anyone who likes watching videos and wants protection to get this case because of the kickstand and strong built.

Personally I like it. I don't experience any of the issues other people have reported like it consisently slipping from your hand. Sure it may not have any texture or grip but even then I've yet to drop it from my hand. It's survived more than a handful of falls thus far and seems to be holding up great. No cracks or scratches on my phone at all from the fall. The added feature of a stand/back leg is also pretty useful for me while I watch videos. Also no issue with wireless charging your phone on a charging pad but it will have difficulty in charging other phones or my Samsung watch through the case. You'll have to take the case off for that. Only complaint I would have is that I can't easily recognize the volume buttons on the case unless looking at it or blindly pressing it until I figure it out. Maybe a different obvious texture on it would help instead of a small + and - sign. Other than that, I love this protective case.

I really like this case. It's sturdy, non slippery and really makes me feel as though my phone is protected. The raised lip on the top and bottom basically makes face down drops on a flat surface a non issue, as the screen won't ever touch a flat surface.The edges are well protected by very strong rubber material that is very stiff. If it is able to absorb and disperse the impact of corner drops as it says, that's great, as aside from face down drops, corner drops are the most dangerous for this phone. (I know from experience.It widens the phone a bit and makes it a tad heavier, but in a way that I really like. I have big hands, and with this case on, I feel like I'm holding something substantial and solid, rather than a light weight fragile phone wrapped in glass that slips given any opportunity.I got used to the button lay out fairly quickly. I know some people feel like the fact they don't stick out is detrimental, but its really not. Keeping the buttons flat means that if you drop it in its side, the impact will be dispersed rather than the button taking the full impact.The Kickstand is a nice touch, but its hinge is very fragile and could easily be bent. When using the kickstand, use it gently on a flat surface you are very sure about. It's great for video calls or watching movies if used gently, and responsibly. It's a neat gimmick. Just don't rely on it to be as sturdy as the case.I like the sturdiness, and I love the weight and the ergonomic, non slip grip in my hand. Spigen took on a tough task when designing a case for this particular phone, and they rose to the occasion. Ive been getting a Spigen for all of my phones the last few years, and they've always kept them safe. I'm confident this will be no different. Thanks Spigen!
