Failed me when I needed it most!
I purchased this a few months ago and had really high hopes for it. Sadly, after ONE USE it stopped working. I took it with me on a 22 mile trail run and used it the first time successfully...it got me through the run once I ran out of water. I made sure all of the water was out of it as instructed and stored it for the next use. Unfortunately, when I ran out of water on Friday during a 19 mile trail run, the LifeStraw didn’t work...couldn’t even pull a sip through it. Not only was this disappointing, but also dangerous! I was depending on being able to use this and it failed me. This is not what I expected from a product that boasts being able to filter 1000 gallons of water! I paid $20+ and it filtered less than 1 liter total. Very disappointing. If this is a defect, I hope they replace it...but it will be difficult for me to trust that it will come through when I need it.

You need several of these.
I don't care where you live, how comfortable you are in your clothes, your income level, your skills in the bush or back country or if you prefer to camp in a hotel and call "roughing-it" a night in a motel, if you live in a trailer, stick-built house, apartment or mansion, you need several of these. Have one per person in your home and one extra. Have one per person when out backpacking or adventuring, and at least one in your vehicle when driving more than a 30 minute drive from home (yes, 30 minute drive because a 30 minute drive could be a full day walk back). Why? Because you can't live without clean water, and emergencies happen. Get these, and get a Sawyer Mini, and perhaps a bucket filter for your home as well. It's one less thing to worry about if an emergency happens.

This doesnt help a lot with taste, but it works as advertised, cleans water to safe drinking.
I've been using these for YEARS. From Arizona to Washington, I hike and drink straight out of nasty stagnant water commonly everywhere I go. I dont like to pack water, I hike places I know have sources nearby. I have never gotten sick even drinking super nasty larvae infested water in cattle grazing areas of Arizona. This straw is so amazing for the price!!!

It works like it’s supposed to...I know cause I have 14 & 16 yr old boys that tested it thoroughly.

Highly Recommend
My 19 yr old son went to Mexico. He def thought I was being “ super extra” buying this . He calls me from Mexico City and says “ Mom seriously thank you for buying that straw thing I def would have had to drink some suspicious water . My friend did and now he’s sick in bed for 2 days” . He said the water through the straw was “ like spring water “. Best and most worth it purchase!!

Works great
Kinda hard to review something like this because most people will not use it, however I did use it a few times while hiking just to try it out and if you follow the instructions it actually works very well. Just be careful in temperatures below freezing as it will clog up.

Be aware of what you’re buying
Had to return this one. When I bought it, the picture made it look like a pack of three was an option for a cheaper price.

funziona perfettamente

Brilliant piece of kit!
Good bit of kit to keep in your camping gear or if you go for hikes etc deffo worth having one with you, you never know when you might need one! I recently used mine when we went wild camping and gathering our own water and food etc. We boiled the water first but then used the straw to filter out on dirt etc from the water and i must say it worked really well. The water we had was a bit murky but after sucking it through the LifeStraw it was crystal clear! I cannot recommend these enough to anyone who is considering going wild camping! Brilliant piece of kit!
