Helped me survive
These boots saved my ass after hurricane Irma. I was living in the BVI and wore these to traverse what a category 5 leaves in it’s wake. Myself and friends were cut off from roads, fresh water and food for 3 days, these boots helped me get help for our party of 6, which included 4 adults and 3, 6 month old infants.

Very stable platform
I put fit as expected but I expected them to run small. I ordered a half size larger keeping in mind that Sportiva makes climbing shoes and they are supposed to be tight. I found it to be a very stable platform for the mixed environment that I work in- asphalt, sand, and marble tile. I usually carry about 40 pounds of gear and it provides the right amount of support without being too stiff like a heavy hiker. It looks sharp and of course, it is Gore-Tex. So all around, a good, quality, versatile shoe.

Great Light Weight Hiker
I have narrow feet. These boots fit them well. The lacing system allows you to customize the fit really well. So if you are a La Sportiva fan, as I am, and are wondering if these light hikers would be good ones my review could not be better. They are light hikers. Don't expect great support with a heavy pack. I found the insoles to be too thin making the boot feel "hard", but once I put my custom orthotics in them the shoes are awesome.I wear 43 in La Sportiva boots, the Xplorer Mid is no different. Very comfortable light hiker.

Best lightweight hiking/approach boots I've found
Light, durable, very sticky, reasonably stiff. I used SeamGrip prophylactically on seams, like I do with all my hiking/climbing boots. I have a wide forefoot and narrow heel, and these fit perfectly given that I order a full size up.

Purchased a 1/2 size larger than my normal 11.5. US12/Euro 45.5 and it fits great. I find that with La Sportiva a half size up is offers a good fit for my foot. (exclusive of the climbing shoes) I have a narrow heel, long toes, medium arch neutral stance.

Excellent
I look the look and feel of these shoes. Hiking boots then to be clunky and they take awhile to break in. These boots were comfortable from the beginning and lighter than others I have purchased.

They run a bit on the small side and don't seem to stretch any. Had to find thinner socks. But in all that is okay because they are more of a summer boot anyway.
