Not only was it cheaper ~ it was next day delivery. The local main dealer for this brand only had a half litre container They had no deliveries expected as the other types were still in stock Another dealer could get it to order Åmazon delivered for less the next day This is an excellent product if you don't want to colour your plywood It goes on easily with a little Mohair roller Doesn't need brushing out Dries quickly Doesn't even look like you've done anything to the plywood. If you want a totally natural wood look, Polyvine Dead Flat Interior Wood Varnish is brilliant

This is perfect, Matt varnish. I used two coats on the small table and only one coat of the crates which I had ordered burnt effect so needed to seal them.

I have been using Polyvine varnishes since the 90's. I won't use anything else. From the decorators varnish, satin and matt, the wax varnish and now this one for my painted floorboards. I empty into a container and give a gentle stir as to not create any air bubbles, a flat very soft brush and did the floorboards in sections. The whole floor which was 12ft by 12ft square only took me 40 minutes. It was touch dry in less than an hour. I applied another coat after 3 hours and left it to cure for 24 hours. Rock hard, paint colour stayed the same and I tried the finger nail test, nothing, no scratch mark or any dig in mark. Highly recommended.

Bought this following a recommendation I use it to finish off decoupaged drink coasters ..it’s hard wearing & stops hot drinks from sticking to the finished product Clear finish ..easy to use ..will buy again

Almost right after buying I had a bit of a buyer's remorse because I didn't know that dead flat means matte and didn't think to double check. But boy, after this product I'm swearing by matte varnishes. I'm devastated they don't sell it anymore

Got this for black walnut drawer faces I am making for a bathroom vanity. I had already done several coats of minwax wipe-on poly to get a good solid protective base on the wood, and then lightly buffed it with sandpaper to knock down the shine. I then foam brushed a crazy thin layer of this over all the surfaces and let it dry. With the base coat of minwax already sealing up the pores of the wood it took maybe a couple of floz. of polyvine to cover all 9 of the large drawers that I was finishing. (They are about 24"x8" each) As it was drying I gently wiped with the foam brush any areas that appeared to have 'more' than they should to even them up, but I probably didn't need to. THIS STUFF IS AMAZING! The black walnut has zero and I mean ZERO shine! It looks like raw wood! I haven't used modern masters or any other 'dead flat' finishes so I can't compare, but am interested in what others who have have to say about it in comparison. I'm TOTALLY satisfied with this product!
