A beautiful and solid knife with a great shape
This is my second copper Mini Natrix, I received the first one as a gift a couple years ago and loved it, but misplaced it in a move, and finally decided to get another one because I missed it so much. By the time I considered a new one, they had come out with two larger sizes, but as a lady with medium sized hands, I was happy with the size so I got the same one. It is a beautiful knife, and only gets prettier with patina. The edge geometry makes it a great slicer, and the handle shape feels solid and perfect to me. The D2 steel is a huge plus to me. I didn't know much about sharpening knives back when I first got it, but since then I've used and sharpened a lot more knives and found some preferences when it comes to that. For camping and hiking, I don't mind something with slightly less edge retention, I carry fixed blade knives in those situations in 12C27, 14C28N, 1095, or 1070, which have less edge retention than D2, but are buttery easy to resharpen. For a folding pocket knife, I like something with a little more edge retention, and D2 is a great steel that is still not difficult to sharpen and often very affordable. I've found the copper Mini Natrix in D2 to be lovely for that use. I carried this knife every day for a couple years and in fact never needed to do more than strop it to keep it in excellent sharpness. I am used to my knives coming in various stages of sharpness from a seller, sometimes they are shaving sharp and sometimes basically blunt like Tramontina, but that doesn't bother me since learning how to sharpen. This knife came scary sharp, and that's a nice bonus! The fit and finish of this knife is excellent. It is a fantastic value for the cost. I like that this knife offers the quick deployment of the usual Kershaw knives but with a nice ball bearing system, I never had any issues with fast and clean deployment of the blade. It locks up rock solid, with zero play at all. I am very happy with my second Mini Natrix! I purchased this here through KnifeJoy, and when a problem happened with my order they were responsive and quick to offer help. Luckily the package arrived with no issues, but based on their customer service, I would go directly to them for my knife purchases in the future. Thanks KnifeJoy!

Copper Lover's Dream
I've recently fallen in love with copper... All of it. I love shiny, bright, new copper. I love old copper with a heavy patina. And everything in between. I decided to look for copper versions of the things I carry with me every day, and a pocket knife is one of those things. I now have two pocket knives with copper scales, this one, and a considerably more expensive Benchmade Bugout with custom copper handle scales. This kershaw isn't as nice as the Benchmade, but it's nowhere near as expensive either. Here's how I look at it: I have my "nice knife", the Benchmade, and I have my "work knife", this Kershaw. This thing fits the bill for a work knife beautifully... the D2 blade steel holds a good edge for longer than any other steel at this price point. It does take marginally longer to sharpen well compared to other steels, but I'm rarely rushing to maintain my edge. The flipper tab is perfect. Not too big as to be obtrusive, not too small to be difficult to deploy. Smoothness of action is on part or slightly better than most folding knives at this price. Perhaps my favorite aspect of this knife, or any of my copper gear, is watching the finish slowly change over time as the patina develops. In fact, I like to "play" with the patina... Sometimes I'll take the knife apart and scrub the copper with some barkeeper's friend, or comet cleanser to get it shining like a new penny (very easily!). Sometimes I'll pour a little ammonia into a small container (like a Gladware food storage container), just enough to cover the bottom, then I set the knife on an upside down shot glass I've placed inside the container and close the lid for a day or two... This exposes the copper to ammonia vapors which quickly impart that blue-green patina onto much of the copper. I'm told you don't want to expose the copper to liquid ammonia directly. Anyway, if you don't like the result, or want to change it, you can always scrub it off with a little cleanser and try again or wait for the natural patina process to progress again.

It's Copper!
I really wanted a copper pocket knife and this delivered. The heft is nice and the build quality ensures that the heft has purpose. The locking mechanism is solid and simple enough to close one handed. The clip is also quite strong. The blade arrived sharp and has proven to be more resilient than other models I've tried in the pasr. The big draw is the copper body. It's definitely copper and has begun to develope it's petina which is what I was looking for. The copper itself has an almost sand-blasted type of finish but a bit smoother. It's quite nice to the touch but not so smooth that it feels slippery in the hand. I love this knife and if you've kept reading this far I think you'd love it too.

Great materials, smooth action. Perfect for EDC
Very well done by kershaw. It’s a great design and based off of the ZT 0777. It’s a “small” version of the natrix and is comparable in size to a mini griptilian. D2 blade came very sharp out of the box. Copper scales/frame are very sturdy and machined well and take a good patina over time. Sup frame lock has great lockup and no lock-stick. The action is UNASSISTED and fantastic. Very reliable deployment. The knife has a good, solid weight due to the amount of copper. Honestly, this knife could sell for $100 and would still be wort it. Has the Kershaw name but feels much more like a ZT. If you run a copper EDC you NEED this knife.

Good knife with minor flaws.
I'm a big fan of kershaw knives and have never had a single issue with them. I normally carry a Blur daily for work but thought this would be a nice change bring that is copper and I'm an electrician. The knife flips smoothly and was very sharp out of the box. My only complaints are that it's made in China (I knew this ahead of time), the liner lock is a bit tough to get with my thumb and the pocket clip stretched the first day and does not want to stay put when I bend it back in place. This makes me less likely to carry the knife daily since I never know if it will fall out of my pocket.

It's super small. Pocket clip has no retention hard to flip smooth action though. Looks cool af
The copper is cool but its hard to keep your finger off the frame lock to be able to flip it good. The clip carrys real deep but slides around due to no retention whatsoever it seems like. Decent knife good materials for the price. Fit and finish is good. Flipper tab a bit sharp. Doubt I'd buy it again tho maybe the bigger one.

For $50 I couldn’t be happier with this little knife.
This is my first pocket knife purchase and for $50 I’m very pleased. The aesthetics of the copper scales and the design is what drew me to this one. Here are my day one impressions: - I have fairly large hands and it is just big enough to be comfortable to hold. - the blade is D2 steel and out of the box it is not super sharp but easily cuts paper. -The clip is very stiff and feels like it gets good purchase on the pocket so that it will not easily pop out. - The pocket clip can be placed on either side of the knife and on one side appears to have a second position that will allow it to ride a little higher in the pocket. - The copper scales give it a good feeling of solidity and heft in the hand without being too heavy. - The flipper is fairly low profile and it definitely takes some force to activate. I put a couple of drops of oil on the bearing and have worked it several dozen times. It feels like it’s already starting to free up a bit so I’m not too worried. It is definitely possible to short-stroke the flipper but in general the action is quite positive. Certainly not glass smooth but will likely improve over time. On the other hand, since some real effort is required to flip it open I do not see this knife opening unintentionally. - The blade lock is very stiff and does not protrude from the frame very far so it takes some practice to work it with one hand. My thumb is definitely sore after fiddling with it for half a day. Again, this blade isn’t going to close unintentionally. It definitely takes some strength and dexterity to open and close with one hand but I am guessing that it will improve over time and at this price point I have zero complaints. It feels very solid. The only issues that I can think of is that since the scales are smooth and untextured copper, if your hands are oily or wet this thing is going to be difficult to hold on to so that would be something to keep in mind. Also, because it’s on the small side, if you don’t have the right grip on it when opening, the tip of the blade can make light contact with the thumb but nothing I’d lose sleep over and is easily overcome with a little practice. I’ve only had it for half a day and I already feel attached to it.

Seriously awesome EDC
Very nice knife. I was a little hesitant to buy bc it's made in China and has a plastic spacer in the handle. Razor sharp perfectly centered d2 blade right out of the box. Super smooth opening that I believe is on ball bearings. Copper scales look cool and will look cooler over time. Knife has a good weight to it for the size but it's still light, so it gives the impression of something that's just well made. Time will tell, but for now, this is a super slick EDC. My only complaint is there is no obvious place for a lanyard. I could probably use the clip though.
