Steve Madden Women's Troopa Lace-Up Boot

My daughter introduced me to these boots over 10 years ago. They are 100% leather and so soft and comfortable. Everywhere I go I get compliments when I wear them. If you take care of them they will last. Even as they age, the leather gives them the perfect look. I am so pleased that Steve Madden has continued this style just as they are and have done. I love the leather instead of the PU like other boots have changed to. This style is known as their signature boot. I am broken-hearted I did not get the gray and the maroon pair before they sold out in size 10. I hope they restock these soon before next fall. I also wish they would bring back the navy color and maybe even a lighter brown one too. They will sell well, especially the navy ones, which are very hard to find in any other brand. Many of their boots have large bulky soles and heels, which I do not like. This boot is more stylish and versatile since you can dress them up or down depending on what you are wearing. I also wish the shoestrings were just a little bit longer, but I work around that. I just don’t lace them to the top holes and I tie them lower and you can’t even tell. Some people actually leave more holes this way and bend down the inside for a different look. I have had boots that the shoestrings easily broke. These do not do that. They also are very supportive for your ankles and that is a plus. I just love them and I highly recommend them. You won’t be disappointed and they will become your favorite boots too.

This is my 3rd pair of Steve Madden's women's Troopa Lace-Up boots. I absolutely love them. They're a good quality and look good with jeans, skirts, dresses or shorts. They run a tiny bit narrow for me, and I'm not a fan of breaking in shoes by wearing them. I still have the last 2 pair of boots, but my feet have gotten a bit bigger so I ordered a larger size this time. Here's a little tip. And just note, that if you do this, you won't be able to return them. If they feel too snug, what I do is, I choose my thickest pair of socks, roll them and shove them into the front (toe) of the boot. I prefer to use a shoe stretch product for this. You might be able to spray a little bit of warm water on the area where it feels tight an give it a few hours to work. I don't really like to use water on leather, but it might be all you have. If you live in a dryer climate, use a small amount of boot polish on them to keep them protected from drying. I will continue to buy these boots for as long as they're selling them.

I’ve lived in these boots for three years before I wore through the heels. I’ve worn them 3/4 of the year for three years (2 years in Michigan and 1 year in Seattle). My feet stayed dry no matter the weather and puddles. I’m typically a size 6-6.5 in sneakers but a size 7 in these boots. They are narrow and hug my feet, but over time they do stretch out and mold to your feet. After a little bit of time, I added Roo Runs 3/4 orthopedic inserts to support my high arches, which lasted two years. I LOVE THESE BOOTS. As somehow who had only bought $40 boots before (that would only last 6 months), these $80 boots are well worth the price (lasting me 3 years). I just rebought these boots and the Roo Run inserts. The inserts won’t fit until I break the boots in. The boots are stiff at first but will break in beautifully. (Photos attached of new pair and old pair) I’ve worn thin cotton boot socks mostly with these and have stayed warm. In the winter, I have worn thin wool socks to stay warm as well. But typically, my feet stay toasty in the boots and require daily sock changes from being a little sweaty, but I do walk long distances in them. I’ve never had a problem with the zippers. The laces have lasted the three years as well. I love these boots and will be repurchasing them again in another three years. Clearly, they are rave worthy. And the price today is the same as it was three years ago when I bought them initially!

I ordered these boots because I LOVED the variety of colors they come in. I ordered both the Purple and the Green Leather. First off let me say the colors are more vibrant online than in person. In person the colors are still nice and striking, but I felt the toe of the Purple boot was a little too worn. Overall I still like the colors of both boots. As for fit, I had initially purchased these boots in a size 9. This is the size I normally take in most boots and sandals. The Purple boots arrived first, but in the wrong size. They were an 8.5 in a size 9 box. This actually turned out to be a good thing, as I found the 8.5 fit my foot perfectly in length and width. Speaking of width these boots are on the narrow side. When the Green boots arrived they were the correct size ordered, the 9, but the 9 was just way too big. So I would recommend sizing down at least a half-size. As for quality, my boots were stamped Made in Mexico...I know there has been some disagreement in the reviews as to where the boots are supposed to be 'made'. The leather feels nice, the stitching appears solid, but the sole seemed sloppily applied. I noticed there was a bit of adhesive that was on the back heel...however you only notice it when you look at the boot up close. I guess I was expecting a little better quality from a name like Steve Madden. In comparison my Earth boots, and even boots I purchased at Target appear to be much better quality. As for comfort I already know I won't be wearing these boots walking on concrete for long days, at least not without the addition of a gel insole. For general light wear they are comfortable enough. In the end, I bought these boots and plan on keeping them because of the color. I love the style, the color choice, and while I think there is a slight quality control issue...overall the boots appear to be alright. I will keep them and will update my posting when I start wearing them more often when cooler months arrive.

I was nervous because I saw all the reviews that said they got knock-offs; I also noticed something very weird. There are two sets of product page photos for the listing and one has the Steve Madden imprint on the bottom and the other ad does not, but it's linked to the same number of reviews. Perhaps counterfeiters found some way to piggy back onto a legit page? I don't know, but these are definitely real- the imprint is on the bottom and it came in a SM box. If you received fakes, I would suggest returning them with a note and see if Amazon will send you a legit pair; I would think they have to. The real ones are definitely worth $70. They're definitely real leather; the shoe tongue is definitely leather, so I know it is. I think because of the polish and the synthetic lining (I think) that's why some people think it's not leather. Either that or the fakes are pleather. I was also worried that the brown would be too light and too reddish- I saw some photos where it looks light. The ones I received were a nice rich brown. I'm holding off on conditioning them because the shade is nice but maybe if they fade in time I'll condition them then. But the brown is as it is in the photo- dark around the edges with a sort of oxblood shade around the toes and some areas. Very nice. Also they can be laced tight to your ankle; some photos made them look loose but mine can be laced tight- although if you have slim calves that might not be the case. I just didn't want that ugly gap. They were also easy to break in; my first day they were comfortable from the start. Very happy with this purchase! highly recommend.

Love these boots! Steve Madden never disappoints. They are such a great value for genuine leather. They look so sharp and the side zipper makes them so quick and easy to get in and out of. True to size. Water repellent. They aren’t waterproof (standing and walking in 7” of snow) but with a spray treatment, I’m sure they could be. They are getting softer and better! I love them!!!

I ordered the Dark Green Leather in size 7 and they fit great! I'm always worried about ordering online whenever I see a comment or two saying the boots don't fit. But I am a true size 7 and these fit as such. They are narrow, so if you know you need space for a wider foot...order them wide. I have narrow feet so they fit me just fine. However, they are a little snug with my thicker socks and tights at the same time, but it's not unbearable. I can only fit thinner leg warmers in with the boot because they are a true tight fit on the calves/ankles... but I'm sure loosing up the laces will give a more comfortable look. I was a little worried about the dark green because another site made them look more like a bright green. But the color was perfect! I'm so excited to have more funky color to add to my outfits... now I think I need these boots in most all of the colors lol. As for boot quality: The zipper seems like it will hold up well over time. The stitching looks good on the boots. The laces are a little stiff, but I'm sure the will break in well given a little time. My only complaint would be that the soles look a little cheaper in quality than I'd like (not quite as nice as the picture makes them look). So I will have to be mindful of not wearing them out by over wearing them. I can be pretty rough on boots, as I tend to overwear my favorite pair. But these boots will make an excellent addition to my boot rotation that I'm creating as to not wear out the soles. I'm seriously wanting to order these boots in at least black, denim blue, and a dark brown so I can have these awesome boots in multiple colors... then I can enjoy the style without wearing them out.

I really, desperately wanted these to work, especially for the price. But the seam across the top of the foot on the left shoe was SO TIGHT it was unbearable. I tried everything to stretch it out to match the perfectly comfortable right shoe and nothing worked. This super sucked cause my left foot is my smaller foot, so it must have been a defective shoe.

Estas botas las uso casi todos los días para salir, ya llevo más de un año con ellas. Me llegaron a tiempo y se ven iguales a las de las imágenes. Me encanta su diseño, es una simple bota estilo militar, sin adornos ni "estilo femenino" (literal venden este mismo modelo pero para hombres). Quisiera que hubieran más zapatos para mujer así. Y no es una bota tan robusta, hasta es elegante y se ve bien tanto con ropa formal como con ropa casual de casi todo tipo. Cabe mencionar que las pedí unas dos tallas más grandes que mi verdadera talla porque prefiero tener mucho espacio en la punta del zapato y que no se me vean tan pequeños los pies al usar botas. En fin, aunque al principio rozaban y apretaban un poco en los tobillos, se adaptaron muy rápido a mi pie. También me acostumbré pronto al peso. Debido a la talla en la que las pedí, están muy lejos de ajustarse a mi pierna, pero eso para mí no es ningún problema. Tal vez sea diferente para las mujeres que usan la talla correcta o que tienen una pierna más gruesa. Yo prefiero usar zapatos que no son acolchados ni están hechos específicamente para ser cómodos, así que para mí estas botas son bastante cómodas, pero tal vez no lo sean para otras. Diría que tiene soporte normal para el pie, bastante promedio. Yo antes tenía unas botas muy parecidas a estas que eran de otra marca, pero nunca las pude encontrar de nuevo ni en la zapatería donde las compré ni en internet. Anduve buscando por un tiempo y finalmente dí con estas que son casi iguales a mis viejas botas, con algunas diferencias como la calidad de las agujetas (superior), la parte de adentro (de material superior) y las suelas (que no están para nada mal, pero la verdad prefería las de mis viejas botas porque me gustaba más el sonido que hacían al caminar, así como toc-toc-toc en vez de pum-pum-pum, pero eso ya es cuestión de preferencia). Tal vez la única queja que tengo es que se les mete el agua si no se les da ningún tipo de tratamiento. En varias ocasiones, en días lluviosos, me entró un poquito el agua a las botas, hasta que un día me quedé atrapada en la lluvia, tuve que pasar por charcos y me empapé toda, y a pesar de que llevaba pantalones, mis botas se llenaron de agua (por las orillas), y las tuve que sacar a secar al día siguiente. (Después de esto las botas siguen en excelentes condiciones, no se dañaron.) Por este detalle, les daría 4.5 estrellas si pudiera. No sé si sean antiderrapantes, pero en lo personal no me parece que sean resbaladizas. Como dije antes, ya llevo más de un año con ellas y aún no muestran señales de que se vayan a romper, sin importar cuánto las use. Nunca las he pulido ni pintado, pero tampoco se han despintado tanto (solo por arañazos). Otro detalle es que despintan por adentro, así que cualquier calceta que no sea negra se va a manchar de negro. Sin embargo, no están ni cerca de despintar tanto como las botas que tenía antes. En resumen: son muy cómodas (a mi parecer), se adaptan rápido a tu pie, tienen un excelente diseño, no resbalan y son muy resistentes, pero se les mete el agua por las orillas, aunque eso se puede arreglar de forma muy sencilla, y manchan un poco las calcetas. Me gustan tanto que quiero comprar un segundo par, pero de color café para poder combinarlas con más ropa y accesorios.

Ich hatte diese Schuhe schon einmal und ich habe sie geliebt, sie sind komplett aus Leder und ich habe sie wirklich jeden Tag getragen egal ob es am regnen oder ob Sommer war. Nun nach 5 Jahren, waren auch sie nicht mehr schön und ich hab sie mir neu bestellt. Ich bin absoluter Fan von diesen Schuhen da sie so bequem sind und wirklich halten . Ich würde sie immer wieder kaufen .

Fantastic price! May be a knock off but extremely happy with the comfort and style. I sized up so a little roomy but fine for me with thicker socks.
