Does its job keeps my steps clean
I have had this for quite some time and I haven't used it until now. I wanted to wait until I got my carpets cleaned. I use it all my steps. It's very nice it's thin and it holds in place, though I do use carpet tape on the back of it in some spots. I would recommend that. If you want to cut it it's easy to cut, you can fit perfectly by cutting and it's very functional. I got the color shown and it's very nice and what I like about it it's washable

Seems to be a deliberate return scam.
I ordered a 20' long GREY rug and received a 7' long BEIGE rug. I verified the order online and the packing slip, both said GREY and 20' long. Even though this was totally Laminet's error, the return info stated that they would keep 15% of my purchase money. Scam. Also, the quality was pathetic and it arrived several days late. Further, I could not return via Amazon, but had to return at a UPS store. Not one thing was done correctly. Do NOT patronize this company.

Very good carpet protection
After recently replacing the carpet on our basement stairs, I wanted to preserve the new look for a while. I bought this protector to try out. I am happy using it. I wanted to minimize the appearance of a dirt path on the steps and this does the trick. Yes, this is thin, foam backed material but there is a slight stretch and it is durable. It's been perfect for our carpeted stairs to the daylight basement where there is heavy traffic in our 2-person household. You'll notice it grabs up a bit of debris from your "up/down" - but think about it: if it were not on this protector it would be in the carpet . In the past, I have cleaned it up by shaking it out and vacuuming but recently I just washed it as the instructions say: On "Delicate" warm or cold water; tumbled dry on "Low", till dry and voila - like new. I'm not sure how many washings it can handle with time. For right now, the protector is minimizing the appearance of a carpet crush path. And it IS a ONE person job pulling up AND laying back down; I've tried it both ways and it is best for one person. Roll up the protector to take off and once laundered, roll it up before applying again. That way you just unroll it into place from top step - down a step at a time to place - to bottom, easy-peasy.

Needs 'tacking' on stairs
I may have read the specs wrong on this item, but without checking I recalled it saying these are good for stairs either wood or carpet. The runner is thing and is not trimmed evenly at the ends, so as you lay it you need to follow the sides judiciously. I laid it over (ned) carpet on my stairs. IMHO this is NOT safe. Realized it needed 'tacking down' but am loathe to buy expensive (even on Amazon) barks to hold it in place. Had two very old, out of use spring-loaded curtain rods for a small window and found they fit my 44" staircase quite well. Put one on each step and pushed back so it was against the rise of the next step. Voila! Went to big box store (yeah - a mistake) and got enough for the rest of the stairs - they longer have the small round ones ao I had to buy the oval ones, but still much cheaper and just a effective as the expensive metal rods cut to fit. This works very welling tacking down the runner, I believe that if someone were in a hurry or if the runner was bunched up and it went unnoticed a person or animal could tumble down the stairs easily. Otherwise: seems OK and its keeping my new carpet clean during California's back-to-back rainstorms..and my messy footed dogs(even wet-is after toweling off!)

Easily moves out of place yet worthwhile
Great stair cover. Issue is dog (and humans) going up an down stairs disrupts the layout and crumples up the stair cover. I do not know of anything to keep it in place. The benefit of keeping my light color carpeting clean outweighs our risk for a fall. We walk on stairs carefully but can’t educated dog to do the same. Even without a dog, the stair cover does move out of place. Still, I would purchase again because I am not aware of any option except clear plastic with its gripping capability; however it’s appearance is no acceptable in my home. Product is easily washed and can be cut easily. It is difficult to vacuum so my husband and I will shake it out. Vacuuming is a challenge since it does not adhere to to the carpet and gets sucked up by the vacuum.

15 Years of Use and Still Look Great
Years ago, I bought this carpet protector for my mom, who was concerned that the new cream-colored carpet on the stairs of her split-level ranch would quickly become grimy with everyday traffic in and out. This turned out to be a great solution. The fabric is unexpectedly thin, with a slight terry-like nap on the upper surface and foam on the underside. The foam grips carpet and tile extremely well in my experience, and the thinness of the material allowed it to conform neatly to the stairs, without any hazardous wrinkles or folds. Because a split ranch has two half-flights of stairs, my mother was easily able to cut the runner in half to address both sets. The cut edge was clean and there was nothing to unravel. The thinness was also an advantage when it came to cleaning, as it was easily picked up and thrown into a standard washing machine. She left the runners on the stairs permanently, or at least until she left the house. She gave me the runners when she moved out and I washed them and stored them. A year later, I found myself in a house with light carpets and an endless stream of contractors coming through with heavy boots and dirty soles. I remembered the runners, and laid them from the entrance and through the living room every time I had work done in the house. Two weeks ago, I felt compelled to look for these again and buy more so I could extend the coverage all the way down the hall. They were hard to find, but I finally found one vendor on Amazon and purchased them immediately. I was so happy they were still being manufactured! These are truly hard-working, humble little runners; lightweight and easy to drop into place when needed, readily picked up again, wash up beautifully, compact to store, and the the protection they have provided my carpet and tile has been invaluable. My obvious initial concern - especially as the material was so thin - was durability. I have to admit I was not impressed when I originally touched them, as they simply felt fragile. But the runners I bought my mother are over 15 years old now, and after about 7 years of full-time use in her home and 8 years of periodic temporary use in mine, they still look like new. They have never punctured or torn, and dirt and grime wash out of them easily. I am so glad to have them, and they are a relatively inexpensive insurance policy for your expensive carpet.

Not sure I would buy again
It is soft and looks nice in the hallway but wouldn't stay in place on the stairs. I dont see how I will be able to vacuum it without sucking it in the sweeper but they say it's washable. I already cut it so I'm keeping it. UPDATE: I washed on gentle and dried in the dryer on low and it held up great.

only real solution for carpeted stairs
Use this on stairs to decrease wear from foot traffic, and also protect from spills of carrying coffee, drinks or food up and down. Isn't water proof, but sufficiently protects from stains nonetheless. Had one of these runners for years that got I don't know where, but than couldn't find replacement, so continued to use years more past it's expiration, had to of been more than a decade and the thing was disintegrating. Friend took pity and found it on here, but only got a 15' length, but than I was able to find it too, instead returning and ordering full length I just ordered extra 9' which was more than needed, but 6' was same price and though would use extra fabric something else. Though ended up just overlapping which worked nice. Having it in two pieces is little more manageable (when remove/replace for guests or cleaning) and not bad way to go. But 20' length would be sufficient one-piece for normal flight stairs. The cats loved to tangle themselves up in the old one, but after replaced, they have stopped doing that for whatever reason. I won't complain, less having to fix it. Read review complained of having straighten it a lot. I mean it is what it is, I guess it depends what kind carpet you have and the nature of the traffic on how well it will stay in place. the old one was having fix a lot because of cats, but sense I replaced it the issue has gone away. either way, I find it the only realistic solution for carpeted steps protection is my opinion from what I seen. But for clarity of what you get, these are lightweight, thin fabric on traffic side, and sort of thin foam on carpet side. As I recall the old one I had originally had sort of a rubber coating on the foam side that was probably suppose to increase grip but it wore off over the years from washing or use. This one didn't have that from start, they probably found it works better without, at least I think it does.

They bunch up.
maybe 2 sided tape will work.

So far so good!
Arrived in time. Was surprised at how thin it actually was but that is what I needed. Very pliable. Have it covering the Berber carpet on the stairs heading to the basement because those get incredibly filthy. I'm naturally slow going down a set of stairs so it is good as-is for me, but if I had busy kids racing up and down those stairs I'd be looking for a way to secure it at each step. Looking forward to seeing how it responds to being tossed in a washing machine.

Dissatisfying Product
This product completely failed to adhere to the carpet on my stairs. Indeed its lack of adhesive quality makes it both dangerous and most unsafe as it crumples and creates folds with every step. It would be utterly unsafe for any elderly or young people to use. The product looks NOTHING LIKE the picture. Sadly, a waste of money.

Muy delgado
Se puede manipular muy bien pero es demasiado delgado y permite el paso del frío de la escalera.
