Be careful not to over fill the compartments. Make sure you take the traps off before going through the hive, you don’t want to spill it in your hive.

the holes are too small and the bees just propolize the darn thing over! I suspect because they fit just between the frames and not over the top like the blasters.I also thought they would last longer because I could clean them out and reuse them. Yeah if I don't mind scraping off propolis and you all know what that's like !!I'll see if I can mod them cuz they install easily enough.Will not purchase again though.

These are sturdy, well made, and fit well in my hives. As long as you have a strong population in your hive, expect them to work REALLY well.The only downside for me was that they are rather hard to thoroughly clean. You can clean the outside, but the interior is so narrow (by necessity) that you can't really get it clean.

I've been using these beetle traps for several years. They are effective at trapping the beetles. The only problem I have had while using them is that the bees try to close up the openings with propolis.

Re-usability is a strong plus, but they are less efficient than, "others"; you do not catch as many % of the beetles. My recommendation: 1) make the top lid black (seems to help, beetles like dark), 2) several separate lid perforations instead of one longitudinal slit, 3) make one single-chambered tub for liquid bait (instead of two separated by a bait-chamber).

Put them in early spring when I saw a few Beatles in first inspection. In Missouri they don't hit us hard until summer but it's best to stay ahead of them. Been maybe two weeks and I did an inspection on my 4 hives. 3 with the traps and one without. All the hives with the traps had zero visible Beatles in the hive and 6-8 Beatles in each trap. The hive without the traps had visible Beatles in the lid and comb.
