Getting the first book may be helpful, but not necessary!
I was given the first book as a Christmas gift and I loved it. Even though it was geared towards a European longsword sword style, I enjoyed them. So when I heard Martell was creating a second book that has more of an emphasis on one-handed style (which I prefer,) I couldn't wait to get my hands on it!The first chapter, surprisingly, is a set of stretching exercises. They're nothing fancy, but I felt were a nice touch.Going into the guards, all of the stances from the first book are reintroduced here in one-handed format along with an addition or two. My favorite part is the drills introduced after the guards are discussed, though it's only for the newer guards. Another bit that may make this book worth purchasing to you is the inclusion of a chapter on dual wielding. To emphasize what the author says, "This is all just meant for fun." So if you or someone you know loves lightsabers and wants to spar with finesse and control, these set of books are a great start!
