This light is really really nice. I got it to replace an old pendulum style light that was making my house look out dated. Now it has a nice clean cut modern look with the added hue touch. Take a look at my before and after pics, as well of some of the hue light in a couple different colors. The built quality is amazing. You are really getting your money's worth with this product. Very easy installation, probably took about 20 minutes to install with basic hand tools.

Absolutely LOVE these lights!!! Purchased 3 of them, 2 for ether side of the garage and 1 for the front porch. Originally had Hue bulbs in all three locations to work with my Hue bridge and now with these stand alone units, they will light up the entire front of my house. They are bright as heck and look amazing, worth every penny!!!

I think I've bought 9 of these over the years. They are high-quality, easy to install, and look and work great. I've tried the other Econic models and this is the most versatile - I've even used it as an indoor ceiling light.

Absolutely love every single thing about this, except for one (see below). Bought this for a ceiling light inside a new custom tile shower being built right now. I already have a nice incremental timer on the ceiling fan, and I wanted to tie this light into the same switch (fan on, this light on; fan off, this light off). Seemed to make sense. I guess the light will run a little longer than needed (e.g. 40 minutes) after finished with the bathroom, but it is low wattage LED, so that is OK. Much better than leaving fan and/or light on for hours and hours. Very nice that I can dim the light without needing a dimmer switch, because I haven't seen a combo timer/dimmer, and we prioritize the timer. My contractor went nuts when it arrived and we plugged it into an outlet to demonstrate. The only think I don't like: Amazon Alexa does not seem to recognize this as a color light. I can turn it on or off and dim it, but I can't change the color with Alexa. Not a huge deal, cuz I still have my phone app, but kind of annoying. Maybe they'll fix it with software updates eventually. P.S. software update and then it showed as a color light

Great product, but I about hate the Philips Hue app. The light is bright, offers a wide range of color options, easy to install, modern and attractive. It works well with my 6 year old hub. I did decide to use the Alexa app to control it since the automations in the Hue app are useless.

I expect a lot from Hue and these lights delivered. The build quality is excellent and the light are extremely bright. They look great on and off. These really modernized our home. It should be noted no installation hardware what so ever is included. This comes with the light and nothing else. Not even wire nuts which I thought was cheap of Hue. If you are able to install these to your existing box using all your existing hardware and wire nuts you will be good to go. However I feel most people will need to buy something additional to install these so beware. I have installed these as wall lights and one as a kind of post light near my gate. Several people have asked about the lights inside. I have included photos of the LED panel inside the unit. Some people complained that these let in water or bugs. The last installation step clearly says to seal the units with caulk. I live in Florida with lots of bugs and water and I have had no issues. I sealed them around the edges with silicon caulk. Moderate install, easy for most. This fixture is well made thus a little on the heavy side. A young person holding it above ones head no issue but for a 75+ senior maybe better to have it installed. I have had Hue system bulbs from day 1!. They pair quicker and more easily than Gen 1 bulbs. Hue is a great system, well supported and sophistication oh HUE-Labs etc.. Great Styling!

Phillips hue has been on the market for quite some time. I was looking for a light that I could easily integrate through my Alexa devices & I decided to take a chance. First, this light does NOT come with mounting hardware. I had to go to my nearest hardware store and buy tapcon screws as I was mounting this device on concrete. I recommend taking the light to the hardware store and showing it to someone who has knowledge on what tools you will need. You will also need a drill, drill bit (I used a concrete drill bit), Phillips screw driver, 16 gauge wire connectors, clear waterproof silicone, tapcon screws (I mounted on concrete)& a leveler. Seems like a lot but trust me..it’s not. I try to do what I can in the house without having to hire an expensive electrician. In my location I am able to install lights like these without needing a permit. Once you decide where you would like to place the light you must FIRST go to the breaker box and turn off the power to that specific area. Double check by flipping light switch on and off, no power means you are good to go. Remove the current fixture & disconnect the wiring. Then with Phillips screwdriver, remove the top and bottom screws located on the light. You will then see the led portion of the light. You will see 4 screws there and remove them. You will now have the mounting bracket. Use the bracket as a guide to help you determine where you will drill 4 pilot holes. Use the leveler in order to have your light level and straight. (You don’t want to have a nice light that is crooked) Once you drill 4 pilot holes, drill 4 tapcon screws into the desired area. Pull the wires through the mounting bracket and connect to the LED portion of the light. Remember .. white with white , black with black and make sure you place the ground wire on the “green” screw (you will see it) & use wire connectors to cap off the ends. Then you will use the 4 screws you previously removed form the LED portion and screw those on but not so tight.. at this time.. check to make sure the light turns on.. if so.. you are good to go. If not then check your wiring and make sure you use wire connectors. Now you are almost finished!! Place the glass faceplate cover on the led light and screw the top and bottom screws with Phillips head screwdriver. Remember to use the clear silicon to stop those pesky bugs, debris and moisture from entering the light. I have included pictures to show before and after application of silicon. It makes a mess and doesn’t look clean so I used a small piece or card board and worked my way around the light to remove excess silicone. Check out the nice finish afterwards!!! I have included pictures. Now that you have your light mounted !! Connect with the app and have fun playing with your new light. Excellent outdoor light from Philips Hue. The build quality feels solid, the design looks fantastic, and mounting it was reasonably easy. Just note that mounting screws and wall anchors are not included, so you’ll need to provide your own hardware depending on the installation surface.

En modo normal (blanco o luz de sol) ilumina bastante bien, de hecho tenerlo en 70-80% es más que suficiente. Lo mejor es activarlo automáticamente cuando se meta el sol y ponerlo en ciclo de colores. Y como 1 hora antes de que amanezca que se apague. Es necesario un HUE hub o Alexa Echo Plus para programarlo, pero un hub es mejor para usar todas las funciones disponibles.

After seeing our sons purchase - we purchased 3 - 1 for above the garage, one for the front porch and one for the garden patio. They are modern, funky and have given the house a "face lift." look great. The light is super bright and does the job for us. The installation was (or I should say looked) quite easy (I'm saying that on behalf of others - I did nothing !!) but the finished product is 100 times nicer than I had imagined. They are hooked up to "Alexa". The light colour changing feature is a blast. I have read about the bugs in the lights but in my opinion, it will be worth the effort to clean as they look terrific.
