All Metal - Durable
I purchased this 3 years ago for a climbing rose in lower Michigan. I leave it outside all year long and cover it with burlap in the winter. The finish has held up rust-free and I just bought a second one. It is so hard to find all metal obelisks at an affordable price that are not poor quality metal or "plastic coated" metal. This one has been excellent.

Not too bad for the price!
Assembly was easier than I thought. After reading the comments, I thought this would have been a big pain. It's really not too bad if you can problem solve. Some of the poles didn't want to fit together. Just use a hammer to tap them together. The four top pieces didn't lay nice and flat together to put the top piece on easily. I just used a pair of pliers to bend the flat pieces down just a bit and it fit together perfectly after that! It is crooked when standing on a flat surface. Looks like one leg is shorter. But when placed in dirt, it'll look just fine!

Helpful to have some basic tools
I assembled 3 of these in a little over an hour on my own. I very quickly realized it would go a lot faster with a ratchet screwdriver and a socket wrench (10mm). You have to have SOMETHING to hold the nuts while you tighten the bolts, even a pair of pliers would do. Although there were no instructions, it seemed pretty intuitive. I found it easiest to work top down, bolting the four curved top pieces together first with the bolt pointing up. The remaining bolts should face inwards. Leave all the nuts loosely attached until the whole trellis is assembled, then tighten them up from top to bottom. Finish by screwing the finial into the upward pointing top bolt.I read several reviews that said that it was really difficult to assemble. I suppose the parts could have meshed a little better but I figured I only needed to put it together ONCE. My one complaint is that I wish they'd given me an extra nut since one rolled between my deck slats and I had to abandon it to the creepy crawlies of the abyss. The trellis is very sturdy and attractive all on its own. I hope to see it covered in scarlet runner beans this summer and as a garden accent through the winter.

Cheap, but I would buy again.
The quality is reflected in the price. And since Iโm using them as my tomatoe plant holder I didnโt want to spend too much money, but I still wanted my pots to look cool. This is perfect for that.I purchased two. I build the first from the bottom up and found that challenging. Then I build the second from the top down and I found it to be nearly impossible. So my advice is start building it from the bottom up.Also, itโs not the best looking obelisk, but if you pay attention to detail it wonโt look as bad as some of the pictures others have posted. Iโll post pictures of mine later.

Assemble from the top down!
I got this obelisk for a clematis vine. It does have a lot of parts, but it wasn't hard to assemble; the instructions with it are just a parts list, but I read reviewers' experiences & looked at the picture here, and it went together in less than 15 minutes. Just start from the top, with the finial & bent pieces, and work your way down, attaching the curved pieces by the centers before doing the overlapping bits, only tightening the screws when it's all together. It seems pretty sturdy, looks nice, and I expect it'll do the job. Everything fit together fine, and there was an extra screw & bolt included.

A few minor flaws but otherwise worth every penny.
Good but not great, this is a very attractive tomato cage but it was difficult to put together and not because it's complicated but because it didn't fit together too well, the rings were kind of warped so you really need to struggle and twist them a bit to get it to fit together properly. It would've been easier with a second set of hands. The paint on the screws comes off when you put a screwdriver in them so I had to touch up the paint on screw heads as it began rusting after a few days. That said, once together it's much better looking than most tomato cages and sturdier. I plan on buying a 7 1/2 foot model for next year as this is a bit short for the big beefsteak tomato plants like "Better Boy" that can grow to 7 feet or more. In spite of its flaws I would recommend this to anyone growing tomatoes or even for vining plants like clematis. If you have a black aluminum or wrought iron fence and you're trying to match that look, you can't go wrong with this.

Good value once you get past assembly
For the price, this is a very good trellis and looks good in the garden (purchased 3). Once assembled it is very sturdy. I took 2 stars away for -1) The directions are basically a picture showing where all the parts go. Note - it is easier to assemble if you start at the top and work down the legs. Also, the holes in the legs that the screws go through were apparently made by a punch press - some of the holes are irregular in shape, making it difficult to get the screws through.2) One of the trellis did not have the different size screw for the top ornament (installed with the same screw as the legs resulting in the screw sticking up in the middle of the ornament. Also, the black powder coat on one of the trellis had been damaged on the legs and the C bands (appeared to be a manufacturing issue as it did not seem damaged in shipping.UPDATE: the hardware (nuts and bolts) are poor quality and rust within days of the first rain. Gives trellis interesting look - all black with orange nuts and boltsOnce you get past the two points noted above, the trellis really does look good in the garden and exceeds the expectations of what you get for the price.

Nice, but be prepared for an annoying assembly process
This was a major PAIN in the ARSE to put together. Hard to align the poles so the holes were even to insert the screws. It kept collapsing on me as I was trying to screw the pieces together. Probably helpful to have an extra set of hands to help support it as you build it. Itโs super sturdy and looks fancy for my tomato plants.

Great value and price
For years Iโve always wanted a iron obelisk but not willing to pay the price. This unit comes in several pieces and made of cheaper materials but Iโm fine with that. I loved the first so much I ordered a second one. Love it

Obelisk tisk tisk
I purchased this unit for indoor use. It was not easy to put together as the "instructions" was simply a parts sheet. Turns out, there is an order to putting it together so I ended up taking it apart a few times until I figured it out. The top pieces had to be bent to fit together in order to get the finial on and it does not sit evenly on the floor. There were no differences in the pieces to indicate that it had to be put together a specific way. Outdoors, if this sticks into the ground that won't matter but it advertises as both indoor and outdoor. In the end it works but if touched, it rocks back and forth from being uneven. The quality of the material was fine and as heavy as expected.

Nice addition to my flower bed
It's a nice addition to my flower bed. I bought it for my honeysuckle and am happy with it. It was not as tall as I had hoped, but it does look nice. And it was a bugger to put together! But all in all, I am happy with it and it arrived very quickly, which is one of the reasons I chose it.
