Solid feel. Surprisingly bright for such low power draw.
Took a week to send it for whatever reason, but then they sent it priority in order, it seems, to get it to me by the estimated delivery date. They missed it by a day, but I don't care. I appreciate the extra effort. The light is VERY bright and as described. Love the dimmable feature. It will make my life easier as I grow my micro greens. I think I definitely need some sunglasses for while tending things and would recommend others to just buy some at the same time they get the light. I really can't believe the amount of light that comes out of this thing at such a low power draw, Amazing! The build quality seems solid enough, without taking it apart to look inside. The cord is a nice flexible rubber and is about six feet long. The on/off switch has a crisp feel and the potentiometer (which also shuts it down) feels smooth. One thing...The description mentions a "stainless steel rope ratchet hanger" as part of the package, What is actually supplied is four 15" stainless steel wires with loops and clips at both ends which attach to solid brass anchor points at each corner of the light and then to each other with a carabiner clip up above. There is no ratcheting mechanism. The word ratchet implies a method of raising and lowering the light whereas what you get is a simple hanger. I don't think it's going to matter to me because of the dimming feature, but others may want to get a couple of ratcheting rope hangers if they need them for about nine bucks and Galaxyhydro should change their wording to reflect reality.I'm happy that I bought this light so far and can't wait to get it set up and growing. Recommended.

Solidly made
Purchased for post-seedling stage of veggies/flowers. Unit feels solidly made, easy to put together, well packaged, turned on immediately, and light is impressively intense. Looking forward to good results unless my ignorance kills my seedlings...improvements would therefore include (1) distance/spectrum/lumen/dim guides in a product-specific manual rather than a tiny what-to-plug-together leaflet applicable to all this manufacturer's products and (2) online customer service contact information printed on packaged leaflet, and/or evident online manuals/assistance. Very frustrating to have to web search and rely on other manufacturers' similar product information to guess appropriate distance from plants, dim intensity results, and other issues gardening newbies would appreciate! Manufacturer, please don't assume your user has a degree in botany!

Unique GalaxyHydro Full Spectrum 300W LED Dimmable Grow Light Performing Well in our Greenhouse
In October, 2016, we bought 4 of Galaxy Hydro 300w LED dimmable lights, primarily due to the unique dimming feature. We are growing 48 plants in3" net pots in a Kratky non circulating hydroponic set-up. Plants rangefrom herbs, salads, cauliflower, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers and onions. We are very pleased with the ability of the Galaxy Hydro product to dim, as well asconnect between sets, then into our power strips and timers. We arerunning them from midnight to noon, then the natural light takes over inour solarium on the back of our house. The hanging wire hardware included in the package makes it difficult to mountthe units in a level position. We do find that the mounting bracketslocated at the top of the units allow an excellent mounting method usingrods put through the brackets. We have secured the rods to two parallel3/4" metal conduit loops fastened to a wooden grow bench or 3/4" parallelPVC pipes fastened to another grow bench. If we were to redesign the unit, electrical plugs which are currently straight- in plugs could be shortheight, flush to surface, *right angle plugs* to allow for easier pluggingand unplugging, and lower profile clearance. We would also love it if the company could offer a new LED spectrum product, incorporatinga sliding switch to allow different wavelengths, such as more blue forvegetation and more red for blooming and flowering. This could be a bigselling point to go along with the variable intensity switch, which alsowould allow eliminating the on/off switch as the variable switch goes tooff, at 0 intensity. The company seems very motivated to gain feedback and suggestions from its customers, and also offered to solve any problems. None so far, but we greatly appreciated the personal e-mail contact, and we feel we have an actual person behind the product, rather than a faceless, impersonal and automated sale. Good so far!

125 Watt Box, Noisy.
The unit I received has no UV chip, all blue/red, one IR, and two white. It's fans are noisy; meaning noisy compared to computer fans, which are the same size and way quieter. It is loud enough to be distracting in an office or bedroom. My watt meter says it is only pulling 125 watts when turned all the way up, so I think there are a hundred 1.5 - 2 watt chips, not 3 watts (or at least not being driven at 3 W). With that consideration, It may be better to buy a few 25 W screw-in LED clusters that are dead silent for the same price. Then you have better control over light delivery as well. All else is good, nice construction, nice hanging kit, and the dimmer feature is fly. It has a nice light spread too: gettin' all up-in, around-way and over-top those freaky leaves on my aquarium plants. My fish look funny too, like they are flying through an alien atmosphere on a far away world. Moderately recommend.

It only lasted for 6 months of use!
I received the light in late April of 2021 and used it from May thru October 2021(6 months) for approx 12 hrs per day.I packed it away in our heated basement. This year April 10 2022, I set it up and used it for 7 days and then it just wouldn't work anymore. So 6 months and 7 days of use does not seem like a good lifespan for a grow light.I changed outlets to make sure.Don't buy this! The warranty is over well before a year.
