How to make sense of that sizing chart
If you go to Caterpillar’s website and check out the sizing chart there you’ll have a better idea how to size them correctly. The chart listed here, in the last column, shows size in inches which is absurd (25.5 inches for a size 9!) But that column’s measurement aligns with the one on the website which lists it in centimeters which makes a ton more sense and is pretty spot on. I normally wear a 9 but based on that chart I ordered the 8.5 here and they slip right on in bare feet or thin running socks. So if you plan on wearing thicker socks then choose the size you’d expect, thinner socks or bare feet go down a half size. They are a little narrow at their broadest point (just behind your toes) but aren’t pinchy and should break in just fine with wear. The boots are sturdy and well-made - Cats are great in general and these don’t disappoint.

Super Comfy and Stylish
These boots are sized for socks which is great. The fleece lining mans that you don't need socks, though. They are a little loose without them, but still fit. The straps are really stylish and the bottom buckle peeks out of the bottom of boot cut jeans. They have a loop at the back to pull them on which is helpful. The top is nice and wide. If you wear skinny jeans, you'll have to tuck them inside. No zipper to break. the heel height is comfortable. I like flat heels on my boots but these don't seem that high. Grippy soles. I bought these in both colors and recommend them for fit, style, and comfort.

Slightly big
I got this so that I could walk my dog in the fall and early winter, barefoot. I read the other reviews and I agree, these run slightly large. I am a 7.5 and went with the 7. It was a tough call since the toe box itself isn't too large, where the heel is way large. I had to choose between being comfortable walking (heel) or feeling comfortable in the toe box (it's not too bad, it's just that the toe box feels true to size.) Because the point was to wear them barefoot, I went with a smaller size, but could get away with my true size if I were going to be wearing thick socks. I didn't realize that Caterpillar (the heavy machinery brand) made shoes. Pleasantly surprised that the outer is real leather, the color in the image is pretty close. The inner is faux shearling.

Runs Large.
It's always a bit of a gamble when you order shoes online, esp. if you're not familiar with the brand. Because so many purchasers claimed these boots ran large, I ordered a half-size down & they fit perfectly (Thanks for the reviews, Peeps!!!) Comfy straight out of the box; they're sturdy, warm, stylish & made for walkin'. Great buckling & 'bunching' details. They'll go with leggings, jeans, pants & give an edgy look to skirts & dresses. I'm a shoe-FIEND so packing is tough for me but I can see bringing these & just one other pair of shoes when traveling as they're very versatile - they'll take you from a posh brunch to a sight-seeing tour to a dive bar, no problem! If you want to keep the suede looking as new as possible, weather-proof them & they should be fine in rain & light snow. With the thick heel & well-made upper, your feet will stay dry. They're also the kind of boot that will look even cooler with some wear & tear. I'm stoked with 'em & the price was fantastic (best I found online)FYI: The black in this style is not TRUE black (more of an extremely deep charcoal, IMO), and if your feet/ankles are on the wider side, they may be a little snug.

Great little boot!
I just received these boots and am very pleased! They are nice, sturdy and well made, like my other Caterpillar boots. The lining makes them cozy and warm. I bought the toffee color, it is halfway between tan and brown, a nice neutral color. I tightened the buckles so mine are less slouchy on top and more gathered. I got my normal size 7, they fit well with thin socks and there is enough room for a thick pair. My heel does slip when I walk, even though they fit (I have a narrow heel), but there is nothing to rub on it, so they are comfortable. I got mine for an amazing price, but they are definitely worth more than I paid. My overall take, they will be great for winter (super sturdy!) and are really cute. I am very happy! :)

These boots are made for walkin'!!
I love 'em!! These boots are sturdy as well as fashionable! Great color!! And yes, they run big.. I'm glad some reviewers mentioned this.. I wear size 7, and usually go up a size to make room for winter socks. Being aware that they run big, I purchased size 7, and there's plenty of room for warm socks!!

The boots are nice quality but my foot pulls up if I try ...
These boots seem to run VERY large. I wear a women's size 7 and returned the first pair to exchange for a 6.5 They are also too large. Almost a whole size too large. The boots are nice quality but my foot pulls up if I try to walk in these because of the large fit. do not know if i will reorder or not as the price seems to have gone up.

Didn't Last 2 Months
Initially i loved these boots as they are super cute and SEEMED good quality. I wore these boots 5 times. Light wear in dry weather. Now they have a hole in the leather at a seam. For the price I paid, these should have at least lasted the season. Now its too late to return. I'm very unhappy with these boots.
