Wash before using, what?
I love this comforter because it is the exact size to fit my duvet, it's the perfect loft and weight that I wanted, the outer fabric is nice, and the box stitching should help prevent clumping, but . . . The instructions said to wash before using? I wouldn't dare wash it or dry it without a commercial size washer and I ain't in no mood to trek to the laundromat. . . I don't feel like spending the time, money and energy. Unlike many textile and other products made in China that have a distinct and "dangerous" smell this comforter had none. I disregarded the instructions and used it immediately without washing. Maybe I'm exposing myself to carcinogens? The other issue I have, that experience has taught me, is that many comforters are great UNTIL you wash them, or wash them repeatedly. I'm not in a hurry to exacerbate the inevitable lumping and clumping of polyester filled comforters. Oh, if I could find a real goose down comforter at I price I wanted to pay. . .

A fluffy marshmallow!
This comforter has one big flaw, but I still love it. It feels like you're laying underneath a fluffy marshmallow, and the cover is nice and soft. It's medium weight and warm enough for winter temps but too hot for summer. My duvet cover is pretty thin, so I can still feel the fluffy texture of the comforter. The only big issue I have with it (the above mentioned flaw) is that I was sent the wrong size. I ordered the full/queen but got the twin, although it has a queen 90x90 tag sewn on it. Must have been a manufacturing error. I didn't use the comforter for several months, and by the time I realized the error the return window had passed. That said, I will definitely purchase another one in the correct size and just pass on the twin size to one of my kids. I have no idea how it will hold up in the wash. I have a top loader washer and wouldn't dare wash it in there for fear the stuffing would clump. I will be trekking to the laundromat to use the front loading machine when I'm ready to launder it. Don't be afraid to try one of these out. For the price, your really can't go wrong.

Was unnecessarily worried it wouldn't be warm enough
This was the first duvet insert we've purchased and there weren't any reviews on it. I liked that this seemed to be more than just standard poly-fiber fill labelled as "down alternative", and that it was sold directly by Amazon. When I first opened it, I was a bit disappointed because it seemed very thin - not very fluffly, and my wife didn't like that. We put it inside our duvet cover (btw, pay attention to the direction for the King size - it looks square, but it's not) and it still seemed quite thin. All that said, it has not failed to keep us warm, and I often even find myself taking it off part way during the night. I'm sure that will vary by individual and how warm or cold you keep your house. Ours tends to be around 68-70 degrees at night. As for durability and washability, it's too soon to tell - we haven't had to wash it yet.

Cool enough for Florida year round.
Used in my vacation rental. Cool enough for Florida in summer!

Exactly what I was looking for.
I have this comforter on my bed right now. I'd consider it a medium weight so it's a little warm at times but most of the time it's very comfortable.

Very large
I bought two of these to hang up in my family room. My house is not insulated well so we close off part of the family room to keep warm. I purchased two king size comforters and our family room is so warm. They are nice and thick and they are more than long enough. We nailed them to a ledge just under the ceiling and they reach the floor with some material to spare. I don't know if they are warm to sleep with but they work great for what I need.

Too hot for me
I bought this to use inside a 100% linen duvet cover. I bought it because it was cheap and I figured it would be really thin and light. I was wrong. The fit was perfect, no complaints there. But the thing made me so hot I couldn't sleep. I usually sleep very cold, but having this thing on me was like having a sheep dog sleep on me. It was heavy and awkward and made my husband and I so hot, even in the cold of winter, that we took it out and use just the duvet cover alone. If you want a really heavy, hot duvet, buy this. Otherwise, look for something lighter.

Very Soft and Lightweight.
I bought this for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. It's really soft and light weight but keeps her warm enough in her lower level bedroom.
