Mylene Farmer - Music Videos II & III [VHS-NTSC] 2 VHS Set

As an old fan of Mylene Farmer, I was very pleased with this DVD. The artistic qualities of the videos and the beauty of the music are worth seeing and listening. It is the second time I order DVD of music videos of Mylene Farmer from Amazon since it is not possible to get them in Canada. Despite Amazon mention that the format is NTSC, it is not true. Both the Volume 1 and the volume 2 (Which is titled in fact volume II and III) are PAL and not NTSC. Fortunatly, they are region free so these DVD's can be played on DVD player reading both PAL or NTSC such as Philips, Coby and many others without problems even if the DVD player are Region 1. I would ask Amazon to make the correction so that buyers won't be deceived. It is clearly mention on the back of the box containing the DVD that it is a PAL DVD.Note that these DVD's work fine on any computer.Thank you Amazon for allowing us in North America to obtain these excellent Music DVDs. Thank you.

The videos are excellent, specially "Que Mon Coeur Lache" which is not part of any of her studio albums. Please note this DVD contains volume II and III. The only reason it's not getting the 5 stars is because it would not play in my Panasonic DVD player, however it does play very nicely in my computer. Other than the region issue, it is a "must have" for any Mylene Farmer's fan.

A good second collection for documenting her artistic work, since she is more than a singer. A nice souvenir of her career, added to her tours' videos. There is already a need for the third collection - volume 4.

Great content. More than just music videos. There are some live concert songs and "making of" videos.As always, Mylene is a force of nature. Beauty, bravery, talent and great fun to watch.

i adore mylene farmer music videos ,the volumes 2 and 3 are interisting,dancing,good to watch and listening alone or with someone

First of all two important issues 1, In the USA it will be hit or miss if it will play in your standard dvd player. I have 6.. Don't ask why please :-) It plays in 3 of them. Humm interesting so I went to my favorite audiophile store and put the question to them..The answer made perfect sense. The cheaper the internal chipsets the sloppier they are made.. I have a $20.00 junk store player that will play anything you put in it..Even old playstation games..but dont do that will make a hell of a lot of noise. Now a days if you want to be sure just shop here on good old Amazon for a Region free player...I picked up a great blu-ray region free for less than $200.00.Now issue number two..This video is not for children or the faint of heart, this is an artist of tremendous talent,however you need intellegence and appreciation of the arts to enjoy it. I do not understand French This just improves my enjoyment of it. Long ago a professor of mine made a quote I love. "Voice the only instrument made by God" Mylene has one of the finest voices I have ever heard and this video collection she uses her talents around the video to tell thought provoking stories for my mind. I might note I have not translated what she is singing, it would ruin the effect her work has on me. In closing play the second video (train one) on a good home theatre.REAL LOUD.She out powers that locomotive. And Mylene if you ever read this, thank you from an old beat up guy that went through some of what you portray..You help me keep going!!!

Absolut empfehlenswert, die Bildqualität ist aufgrund des Alters mancher Videos sehr wechselnd, viel auch nur in 4:3, der Sound kommt via Stereo PCM dabei aber immer mindestens gut rüber, auch wenn teilweise etwas die Räumlichkeit fehlt zugunsten des Bassfundaments.Ein toller Überblick über ihr bisheriges Werk. Die Videos sind alle kleine Meisterwerke, erzählen Geschichten, auf die man beim Hören der Lieder von CD so teilsweise bestimmt nicht gekommen wäre. Viel Ironie aber auch die bekannte Provokation. Wer nicht so gut französisch kann, wird allerdings die fehlenden deutschen Untertitel bedauern.

Wer Mylene kennt, der weiss was einem bei den Videos erwartet. Teilweise kurze Filme mit einer Geschichte und Mylene in knappen Outfits. Die Videos sind sehr gut. Schade dass das Bildformat unterschiedlich ist. Manche Videos sind in 4:3, manche in 16:9, aber auf 4:3. Man hat also an allen Seiten schwarze Balken. Das kann man zwar am Fernseher ausgleichen, da das nächste Video dann aber wieder in einem anderen Format ist, muss man entweder die Balken lassen, oder ständig am Fernseher umstellen. Das ist etwas lästig.

Eigentlich ich finde es sehr schade, dass so eine großartige Sängerin wie Mylene, in Deutschland fast unbekannt ist, ich frage mich wie sowas möglich ist, dass ist eine Schande. Miley Cyrus, Rihanna e Company, wo denen kriegt mann nur Migräne.Mylene ist talentiert, sie kann live singen, tolle Music machen, und großartige videos machen.

Waren die ersten Videos von Mylene noch etwas ganz neues, nämlich Kinofilmniveau in einer Zeit als das Medium selbst noch neu war, so sind diese Clips eher konventionell. Sicherlich stechen die Videos von Abel Ferara (in bester Miami Vice Optik) und Luc Besson natürlich hervor. Einige der Clips sind allerdings nur gutes Handwerk- sicherlich nicht schlecht, aber eben auch nichts, wobei einem der Atem wegbleibt. Was mich teilweise etwas stört, ist die bedeutungsschwangere Optik, die viel mit Tod und Mystik spielt. Zum einen ist das nach einer gewissen Zeit nicht mehr originell. Zum anderen fand ich es bei Farmer immer sehr clever, dass sehr komplexe Texte in einer trügerischen Konformität der Musik daherkamen. Dazu kommt, dass Farmer zwar auch echte Ausnahmesongs gemacht hat, aber in der Summe dann etwas eintönig wirkt. Der erste Teil ist sicher Pflichtprogramm für jeden, der sich für Musikvideos interessiert, der zweite jedoch nur etwas für echte Farmer Fans.

diese dvd ist eine echte perle.ein beweis mehr,warum sie auchals"Göttin aus frankreich"bezeichnet wird.also soviel ich weiss.videos in dieser künstlerischen art hab ich so noch nie gesehen.und grade so,wie sie sind,das hebt sie von der ganzen kommmerziellen masse ab.ich weiss nicht,wie ich noch dazu schreiben kann.man muß die videos selbst sehen.all denen,diemylene farmers videos nicht kennen,möchte ich diese dvd wirklich ans herz legen.eine wirklich lohnende investition
