Looks cheap. The box is nice but with the first use ( which didn't remove the old stuck-in nut on my lawn mower), it seems like the threads in it can be destroyed within a few uses. The paint on it got easily stripped away, and the metal underneath exposed. Not sure it would do the job or would be durable.

This set of tools was a life saver. I had a stripped 15mm brake caliper bolt and had tried a number of things to get it out. Everything failed until I used this kit. I tapped the appropriate socket on to the bolt, then put a 1/2" socket on it (instead of using a 3/8" tool). I put a 2 foot breaker bar on the socket and gave it a little bit of pressure. The first little bit of turning seemed to get the socket to bite into the bolt but after that, it came out EASY.The only knock I would give the set is that it is 3/8" drive. It would be nice to have at least some of them in 1/2" but the hex shaped base of the socket allows you to put a wrench or socket on it. I can not speak to durability as I've only used the set one time. I suspect they will hold up well. Since this is a rarely used but desperately needed at times tool, it will likely last me a lifetime.

These are a must for any mechanic or DYI person. The folks leaving bad reviews because of ruined bolt heads obviously did not realize that these extractors are not meant to save the bolt but rather save your time and frustration. They have a twisted grip that twists opposite of the way you turn to extract a bolt in order to grip into the head. If you're using these then you've likely already ruined the bolt head by rounding it off.Anyway - I used this set to remove some nasty rusted bolts fused to their components by 16 years of salt, water, mud, and all other types of abuse. After busting a breaker bar, snapping a few sockets, heating them up, using an impact, talking nice to em, talking bad to em, busting my knuckles, and throwing tools, these made the bolts come off with ease. Wish I had them years ago.

I had this stuck lug nut on my BMW, I've been trying to extract with many tools, no luck, and the lug nut head was rounded. I bought the Eastwood lug nut extractor to start with, because that's a 1/2 in drive, and longer socket. That one was able to remove two of the three stuck nuts. As the last resort, I bought this one, it's a 3/8 in drive, and short. I broke my 1/2 to 3/8 inch adapter upon first try. I thought I was doomed. But it had a good grip. I realized I could use a outside hex socket, and brought a 24mm socket. First try failed, the 17mm extractor caused more damage to the lug nut head. Then I go with the 16mm extractor, hammer in to get a good grip, and this time it worked. I am so excited and so relief. Thanks.

I had a low profile bolt head that had been rounded off. I tried locking grip pliers which chewed it up good, but didn't get it off. If I had waited for these to come and used them first they might have worked fine. When I used them one side slipped up on the bolt head. There wasn't much to grab though. They asked for a review so I'm posting one. They seem good quality. They didn't break or chip even though I tried to secure them on the bolt head with a hammer. I'm keeping them. The price was about half what others were charging for a set.

Great gear for the DIY person. When you encounter that bolt that can take your 15 minute job and turn it into 2 hours, this is a godsend. They work great, seem really sturdy, and come in a solid case. I haven't compared them to other similar ones, but based on my experience I'd definitely recommend this set.

I didn't even try to use any of the sockets until 1 month after purchasing, so I couldn't even return it! I bought these, because my drain plug on my truck had a rounded head. The plug head was very soft material and on the first use, the extractor socket gripping teeth actually stripped!!! I am posting a pic of the interior of socket that shows the metal rounded and of no use at all. I have no way to contact anyone through Amazon, or the seller to ask for a refund/new set. I'm not sure if it is just this one socket that wasn't hardened properly, or what?

Great purchase!!! This set should be in every mechanic's toolkit. Honestly one of the better tools I can suggest to anyone, from the DIY enthusiast to the pro you should really consider having this tool. It will get you out of some serious scrapes and save a hell of a lot of time. Just tap it on a damaged bolt with a hammer and then stick it on the cordless impact gun. A really great buy, and at this price it is a steal! Highly recommend

Got me out of a jam with a rounded head cover bolt. Nothing else worked. This set of tools got the repair back on track.
