'As a model railroader, finding the right lighting is crucial, and these pre-wired LEDs from Edgelec is one of my go-to product. I've used them for everything from locomotive headlights and ditch lights to illuminating building interiors. Despite their size, the brightness is impressive, and the warm white color has a perfect realistic glow avoiding that harsh blue-white LED look. The fact that they come pre-wired is a massive time and frustration saver. Soldering wires to SMDs this small is a nearly impossible task, so having that done for you is worth everything. The wires are extremely thin, so you need to handle them with care. Also, make sure you match them with the correct resistor for your power supply. I've bought all the different versions (sizes) multiple times and have always been happy with the quality.

Oh my gosh, these are fantastic! They are extremely small, easy to work with and easy to hide. Stripping them may be a little bit precarious, if you need to strip them, they do come pre-stripped but if you need shorter leads, you’ll have to strip them once you get the hang of it you’re going find out for UV reactive projects for smaller items. These are the way to go. I needed it for a backlit illumination, custom install, and it worked fantastic!

Designed and built a Lithophane Beer Tap Handle with 4 of these. Just off one 3v coin battery it has not had to change the battery for a long time. And once even left on overnight and still working. The wires are very very thin, but you can strip the ends with a knife and thumb. Don't slice, just pull the insulation off. Wire strippers probably are not going to work, I don't have any that will. Just remember that these are 3v, so if using a different color will have to add some resistors to drop the voltage if less than 3 volts. I used 4 of these in parallel to a single coin battery and have been working great.

Update to last review After leaving a low review for a faulty product, the company reached out to make things right by offering a refund or replacement. Just got my replacement today and while i haven’t tested the new LEDs I am impressed with the seller’s approach of doing good business. This doesn’t change the fact that I originally received a faulty batch hence minus one star. Other than that the product is great and the customer service is excellent! Original review This came in two packs of ten LEDs. The first pack was perfect, nice bright white light from a 3v power supply. The second pack was absolute garbage. I always test out each LED before i use, and half of them burned out in a little poof of smoke as soon as I connected a power supply. The ones that did light up were a very faint greenish color, nothing like the first pack. I’ve used up half of it already in model kits so I can’t even return this.

I use these for model railroading. They are very bright at about 12 volts DC and using a 1K ohm resistor to prevent burnout. Small size is a benefit in n scale. Small size and being an LED means the light is very directional compared to a bulb, but I can live with it.

I have bought from this supplier a few times. I have not had any failures. I've used 0402 and 0805 in white and red for various model projects. They are a bit fiddly because of their small size and I have old eyes issues. I can't imagine soldering to these tiny SMD, I'm so glad they are pre-wired.

These LEDs are great for modeling realistic building interior lighting and exterior ambient lighting, and accessory lighting for model trains like ditch lights, ground lights, step lights, and cab interiors. These are not high K blueish white LEDs like you would see in newer car headlights and newer streetlights. These have a nice warm pure white glow when viewed straight on and have a slight golden tint when viewed at an angle, so be sure to mount them with the flat surface facing perfectly perpendicular to what you are illuminating.

Muy buen tamaño, resistentes (en su proporción) y funcionales para agregar luz a modelos a escala, radiocontrol, manualidades, entre muchos más. Yo los ocupé para añadir luz a mis modelos Technic Lego, muy funcionales. A considerar que no es luz "dirigida", sino omidireccional. Posible usarse, con pilas de 3 volts de botón, para tarjetas navideñas.
