Awesome family shelter at the beach
Awesome family shelter at the beach. We cut the center of the flooring material out and left the outside edges intact to maintain integrity of the structure. Comfortably fit 10 people in the shade. My first one has lasted three beach trips. It involves considerable effort to completely take apart, so we leave the poles connected and just lay it flat during our stay.

don't waste your money
Product came as expected, though a bit larger than I thought. Instructions say 2 people are needed to set it up. It really required 3 and was still awkward. There are much easier canopies to use that need only 2 people (or even 1 experienced person) and can go up much faster. While installing the first time, one of the poles made a small rip in the fabric.

this is eddie bauer?
Well the canopy shade is not very dark and by the third day of putting the polls into the holder sleeves they started to tear and I don't know if I will be able to use this next year for vacation. Also the polls didn't want to come apart after coming in contact with the sand. Over all good when recieved except the price on the item said $29.99 and I think I paid 79$. They could of at least taken the sticker off the box so I didn't feel like I was being ripped off.would I buy it again? NO

the good, the bad, the ugly
Footprint: 14' x 14'Center Height: 7'8"Area: 196 square feet(4) Poles: 12.5 mm shock-corded fiberglassCarry Weight: 30.51 lbsMaterials and construction are both high-quality. Fabric is UPF 50 and blocks 95% of sun's rays. It was made in Bangladesh. Comes with a sturdy carrying case (plus slips for poles and stakes) and cheap stakes. Good instructions are sewn into the case -- instructions are not complicated, but take some effort.Floor is attached, and cannot be removed without surgery (not sure if the patient would survive procedure....though I am thinking about doing it, and would love to hear feedback from anyone who's tried it....*** I did, see bottom of review)I put this canopy up by myself in about 40 minutes. (Fifteen minutes just to assemble the poles.) It was not easy, and required a 7' stick with a bucket on the end to prop up the center (standing in for the second person the instructions say you need) to get the initial poles properly arched and secured in their slots...but it was doable. This canopy is of good quality and is useful for limited purpose, but does have some design flaws. The 4 shock-corded poles are each about 20' long, and threading them through the slips is tedious (though there is no reason for them to tear, if you use reasonable care). You need to have a LOT of extra room to get it put together. It would be difficult to set up in a campsite with a fixed table...and if the table is not lift-able and move-able, you are just sunk. For that reason, I don't like the solid floor....not sure why it has one. Unless dragging it, you would need at least three people to move it once it is assembled. It is a thing of beauty when it is set up though, and is very wind-sturdy, once you have the guy ropes anchored down with sand stakes (sand stakes not included). If you have people and a table and coolers, etc. all weighting down the floor, then of course, it won't be going anywhere in the wind...perhaps that's a main reason for having a floor. I have not had it up in a downpour, but it seems to do a good job of not pooling any water in moderate rain. (with the high open arches on all 4 sides, it does not offer much protection on the exposed side if there is any slant to the rain or sun).Unlike the picture might suggest, the side walls are high, and there is plenty of room to move around in there pretty much everywhere, even for someone over 6' (like me).I am glad I have mine, even though there are many campsites in which it can't be used & it is too heavy and labor-intensive in its assembly/take-down for a few hours at the beach -- there are plenty of other good applications.***** I did cut out the floor of this canopy. I cut out the center of the floor, leaving a thin strip at the outer edges, so the four corners are all still attached. I am still not sure that is necessary, but I wanted the support. It is MUCH better without the floor. You would still have to lift it over an attached picnic table, but that is doable.

Great in wind and weather
Second one purchased. Great in wind and weather. Keeps coolers out of the sun.

more info needed
Hi, you need to post a lot more info about this item. What is the shade coverage area? Is it possible to be setup without the bottom tarp-like part???? What is the footprint size...etc...

Not good for beach
Boight this for shade at the beach. It took forever to set up even with two people who have plenty of experience with tents. It did provide adequate shade eventually, but for the beach with wind, not a good purchase
