what are the inside dimensions of the compartment (LxWxD)?

The width is 11 inches the depth is 6 inches the diameter of the wheel is 15 inches it will handle 100 foot hose 5/8 inch

Can it hold 5/8" x 150' water hose?

My best estimate is that 100 ft of 5/8" rubber hose is about the limit of this reel. The size and weight would tax the limits of this reel. I have 100 ft of 1/2" collapsible hose on reel and it handles this quite well.
