Woods 59714 In- Wall 30 Minute Spring Wound Timer, White

i ordered this to replace one that failed after 4 years, it was amazons choice, very tight fit in a handy box, good thing there were terminals for the wires as i don't think it would fit with 2 wire nuts. It failed to count down 2 times in a 5 day period, exhaust fan ran all night. found if you agitated the knob a little it start counting down once again. Loosened mounting screws but it still failed to count down properly. over all it is a good unit but mine failed to operate as designed out of the box. Had to spend lots of time on the phone for the return as I was sent a QR block instead of a return label. Local ups does not take a QR code but one 22 miles away does. So I finally ended up with a return label....Not happy with the return credit of $13.89 when I paid $17.25 plus tax for a defective product. This is not the Amazon that I have used frequently in the past

If you have children that like to leave their lights on for no reason these are perfect. I went with the 15 minute one because the 5-minute one was five times the price for some reason. The clicking sound it makes is a bonus because even though it's a timer they tend to shut their closet lights off before the timer runs out so they don't have to listen to the clicking. I threatened to put them on their main room light too and so far that was enough to get them to start shutting their lights off.

Stops the family from forgetting the bath fan and blowing the A/C or Heated air into the attic! 15 min is more that enough time, so did not want the push button timers with up to several hours as choices.

Mother-in-law is hard of hearing. With the old toggle switch, she would leave her bathroom fan on for hours on end until we would discover it to turn it off. With a timer, she can turn the fan on and it'll shut off automatically after 30 mins.

Works great

The average timer switch seems to be made almost with the assumption that no other wires/switches exist in the electrical box that it's being mounted in. We all know that's not a good assumption!For example, I mounted this in 3-gang elec box with two other switches. There were TONS of wires in the elec box and not much room at all to mount the timer switch. Thankfully, as I stated, this switch seems to be slightly shallower than many others, allowing me to squeeze (and I mean squeeze) this switch in and complete the installation. The 'squeeze' part was the only difficult part of the installation - everything else with it was a breeze.Good quality switch - good price - nice size/depth advantage. Nice faceplate.(please excuse the dirty label tags in the photo!)

I give this a 4 star because this is a replacement of an identical one that was installed about 4 years ago, used daily but failed recently. Reasonable length of service for a timer switch?

Works good

I realized afterwards that of course a mechanical spring timer would tick, but it was too loud to use it in my living room as a gas fireplace timer. Not the most premium build quality, but if you were looking for something to time lights or a fan in a garage, laundry or utility room then it could be ideal.

Easy to install, easy to use. Works well.

I use it to control my mixer in which I knead bread dough. Works fine. I don't need to be attentive to the time. The timer takes over. Thank you.

The spring timer broke after a week...not the quality I was hoping for in this simple timer.
