I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before I watched it so everything was a complete surprise from start to finish. Best movie I've seen in a long time. Cillian Murphy was excellent, just perfect in both parts. BTW, the story line was very good, too, and I liked the ending. Good job of writing. I regret I didn't catch the name of the writer.

Not sure why there are so many haters for this film.It was well written and well acted, I was thrown a bit at first because I didnt catch on to who "emma" was, what can I say? He is so good in the role, almost too good for me to take notice.It was a bit of a psycho-haha logical mindf**k though. Each character doing their own thing totally independent of one another and yet aware that the other existed in some kind of quasi multi dimensional shift of consciousness. Yeah, I liked it, not Top 36 but good.

Everything changes for John & Emma when a train car derails and almost hits his house.Upon the death of his mother, a man psychologically damaged by his mother assumes a second persona as Emma who does all of the housework & cookingCillian Murphy is amazing as John & Emma and should have been at least nominated for awards.

Impeccably constructed movie with the most amazing thing being the benevolent personalities of the man who grew up abused by a psychopathic mother, and then on her death, another personality emerges, equally kind and empathetic; and able to function. I don't believe that would ever happen in a real life result. A lot of reasons why were left out on why the mother did what she did to Maggie. At least Emma didn't repeat the atrocity on the grandson.

In contrast to some of the negative reviews I don’t know anyone in the movies nor involved with it and if you find it “predictable” then I’m totally amazed. It’s about a person with dual personalities and, yes, it’s not hard to tell them apart but part of the movie premise depends on people who look but don’t see what’s in front of them because they’re too involved with themselves and whatever they may be doing. You actually have to pay attention to some movies to get what’s happening and this is one of them so if you’re looking for it to all play out visually you’ll likely be disappointed. It’s a slice of life drama about a disturbed person trying to find their place in it. it doesn’t end with all questions answered but that was OK for me.

Interesting vision and concept. Mr. Murphey did a great job and actually was a lovely woman until the eyebrow cutting. What a warped person after so much abuse, mostly unmentioned. Obviously this person had a breakdown playing two people in one body. Not an entertaining movie but a journey of madness for sure. This movie was quirky, dark at times. Fascinating at others. Just watch and if nothing else it was worth it to me to see an actors range of emotion and technique. He deserved an Oscar for this part in my opinion. Beware the ending just stops but one can imagine what happens next. Hopefully that girl did get where she needed to go and make a good life for her son. By the way, I think the cop figured the truth out of suspected what was going on. I recommend. One star left off because the producer, Director and writer left the viewer hanging!

This was a very "interesting" movie. I was not sure I would get thru the whole movie, but I am really glad I did. Cillian Murphy was incredible in the movie and it kind of pulled you in the more you watched it. Glad I stuck it out and finished watching it.

Without knowing much about the movie before watching, it soon reminded me of the plot of Psycho. It's not a horror movie though, it's more a sad tale about a damaged, fearful man coping with his past child abuse the only way he can. Cillian Murphy is excellent, as is the rest of the cast.

The film itself is alright, well put together and perfectly watchable. A simple tale of a young man who works at a bank, and when a train crashes in his garden suddenly he's at the centre of the town's talk due to a strange woman that appears in his house.Ellen Page is OK in it. The supporting cast, including Susan Sarandon are all pretty great. But Cillian Murphy is astounding. It's probably my favourite role/s of all time for him so far. He is utterly captivating as this 'married' couple, and I've watched the film time and time again because of his performance/s. Basically, if he wasn't in it I would never have watched this film. He never fails to astonish me, and not long following this film I saw him play entire village of people on stage. And then a Brummie. Hard. Core.

An enjoyable psychological thrillerFor me, the main problem with the film is the fact that the reveal that John and Emma are the same person is given much too soon. It happens within the first five minutes of the movie, even before the opening credits have rolled. I think it would have worked better if this was kept until much later in the filmt. That way, the viewing audience would have been in the same position as the townspeople, trying to unravel the mystery between John and Emma

I decided, after watching Peaky Blinders series 1 to 4, that I need to see some of Cillian Murphy's movies. What a diverse and really interesting films he has acted in. It's been an enjoyable journey so far. Both characters are brilliant.

Amazing performance by Cillian Murphy such a powerful story it is a very sad but Cillian looks stunning as a women,and he changes into character so well.

Slow film. Good caste. Some good performances.

Cillian Murphy is known for his versatility and his great acting skills. Amazing to see him morphing into different characters in one film! Very well done! He plays the vulnerability so believable.

Was disappointed in this DVD as I love most films showing Cillian Murphy. Not the fault of the seller though.

Like this film a lot, Villian makes an attractive woman.
