DB9 Breakout Connector Male, RS232 Serial 9 Pin Connector Db9 Terminal (Pack of 2)

This is a nice set of DB9 breakout connectors.

Bought a couple of these for temporary connections on a job while waiting for the proper OEM cables to arrive. Overall they worked very well, the PCB was clearly and correctly labeled (at least for TD, RD and GND ... did not check the others), the terminal blocks were of acceptable quality and the insulating pad on the bottom was a nice touch. I had to remove the female jackscrews for my installation and that's where I knocked a star off. These suffer from the same issue as so many of the inexpensive Asian D-connector adapters in that the metal shell is not bonded to the rest of the unit. Once you remove the jackscrews the shell simply falls off, so I used thin strips of strapping tape to secure it. Since these will only be in use for a week it was good enough, but I'll be looking for a better constructed unit to keep in my tool bag for the future.
