Works great with a separate wall timer switch
Really easy to use, and works very well. Just plug it in and press the on/off button and leave it to do its thing. You can if you want, change the humidity level from 3 levels. I just left it to run at the default "clothes drying" level.I have this plugged into a plug in electronic timer switch with a count-down mode. Since the dehumidifier always revert to its last setting whenever mains power comes on, I can just press the count down button on my plug in timer to run this for a few hours at a time, which I use to help dry clothes indoors - great for hayfever sufferers who have to dry their clothes indoors but don't want to or don't have a tumble dryer. On the first use, I checked the water tank after an hour and it's already sucked up a mug full of water from the air! You can also unscrew a little bung on the back and attach a supplied (but short) hose for the water to drain directly out. I just use the water tank which isn't too much hassle to empty. The design of the unit is quite neat with its smooth curved sides, the plastic doesn't feel cheap nor smell which is a relief.

Works great! Fighting the endless war against humidity and mould!
I live in a place where the RH ranges from 80-90%. Because of this, anything leather that exists inside the guest room keeps getting mouldy no matter what I do. Bought this in a last ditch attempt to control the mould, and so far it has been doing pretty well for the past 2 weeks! I leave it on for 12 hours daily at the second level (I have no idea each level refers to what RH) which always results in the tank being 80% full.Pros:Size is pretty compact I would have to say, about the size of a medium backpack, doesn't occupy too much space.Helps with the portability.Pretty quiet, the low hum when the fan is moving isn't an issue for meCons:The humidistat appears to only have 3 levels, so I'm not sure if anything works in betweenFeels like it will not run at the lowest setting, even when my RH is at 80%. I always have to set it to the middle setting

LOVE IT !!!
I have now been using this dehumidifier for 6 days and I'm very very pleased with it. This is the second Delonghi one I have had and was more than happy with my old one so after looking at other makes decided to stick with this brand and I'm so glad that I have. It's even quieter than my old one. My friend even asked me if it was switched on ! I'm very impressed with the dry washing function on this one, this is a new feature and it definitely makes a difference. My home feels even warmer than before. Can't recommend this dehumidifier highly enough. You won't be disappointed. Well worth the money. If I had to leave a negative it would be that the water tank is half the size than in my old model, so of course needs emptying more often, but on the plus side this water container has a cover over it so there's less chance of spilling water over the floor when you are taking it to be emptied

Wonderful product - recommend
I've had a DeLonghi DEM10 for years. I simply wanted to buy another one but it seems that model has been phased out. The closest to it appeared to be DX10 so bought this instead. Apart from the fact that it's a much nicer colour (got the navy blue one!) it's actually an improvement in several ways - the control knob has a very satisfying feel in operation (you need to try it to know what I mean!) The indicator lights are better. The air input has an accessible filter that you can unclip to access and clean and just generally it looks sleeker. Have used it for several weeks now and it's doing a sterling job which is all you can hope for in a dehumidifier. We use it because we have to dry clothes in doors and when it is used it prevents condensation build up on the windows in the cold mornings. So clearly works very well indeed.

Currently good value and works well
Great value at the moment at almost half of rrp. We bought it to put in where our dogs sleep, their giant breeds and their lungs generate a fair bit of moisture! This has worked well in keeping the room nice and fresh, with the auto cutout being a nice feature to maintain the room humidity at a set level and so saving on energy. Its 190 watt power output is also one of the lowest we could find for its capacity and ability, so all in all a good purchase. We have found occasionally the water full cut out will set off when its not yet full, but pulling the tray out then reinserting resolves. This may become an issue if wanting to leave it unattended for a while hence the four stars.

Great if you have condensation problems but don’t mind losing sleep!
The media could not be loaded. Had I left a review after 1 week, I would have given this 5 stars all the way. Sadly this little unit doesn’t live up to its expectations. The blurb on the listing states that the sound emitted from this model is low and will not disturb you from your daily routine or sleep. However at some point my unit went from gentle background noise to something resembling an engine of a bus idling on my landing. Not great. I have now had the unit for 3 months and will be contacting Amazon to request a refund. Even when I push the buttons to turn it to its lowest setting, there is no noticable difference to the sound it makes or performance. It does collect a lot of water but sadly at too much of a cost.I have just took a decibel reading and it measured over 60 dB, much higher than the listing suggests.

This works very well for drying clothes and excellent in that factor
This works very well for drying clothes and excellent in that factor, however on the low setting, I was informed by delonghi that it cuts out when it's reached its humidity, as per instructions. I own a delonghi dehumidifier from 2009 DES12, which when on low settings cuts of at intervals or when humidity is reached. However this one does not and continually stays on, I am on my second one after an exchange, and still same issue. I have tested it for hours, and still not hearing it automatically turn of.As for being quiet like many people suggest, I find my DES12 from 2009 quieter. I thought I was buying an upgraded model, but apears to be a downgrade.I may be doing another exchange soon.
