This stone works really good, once you cut out/shave off all the plastic that protrudes out of the little holes all over both faces. That's why i gave it a 3. Took me a while to get most of the plastic off and I think there is still some stuck in some of them. Be patient!

I had to return the first one I got because the plastic was higher than the diamond, meaning that when you slide a knife across it would only touch plastic bumps. The second one seems to work, but not that great. I recommend spending a bit more money for a DMT.

the grinding surface had some flaws and when i used it to surface an aluminum head it scored it fairly deeply. also the material it's mounted on melted away when i used an carburetor cleaner. it's more plastic than rubber.

I use a lot of tools. This ansen sharpener is great for my work room. I have two different grits on the sharpener, which allow me options when I'm sharpening. I am able to sharpen my tools fast.

NOT FLAT! This stone has a pronounced curve -- the center is higher than the edges, when you look along the long axis -- and as a result it's been sharpening my blades into a U-shape. A curved whetstone puts a curve in your tools, and you really don't want that!
