Good textbook
I believe that this is one of the best rheumatology textbooks currently available. Having read both Kelley’s & Hochberg, I believe that there are advantages and disadvantages to each book. Personally, I believed that Hochberg was a better organized textbook, but it did not go into the degree of detail on pathophysiology, diagnosis, or treatment as Kelley’s. Hochberg was better for a faster read for that very reason. The charts and tables in Kelley’s were also better designed and easier to read. The charts in Hochberg were not as well designed. All in all, I think that a rheumatology fellow or practicing rheumatologist would benefit from reading either book, but when pressed, I would recommend Kelley’s over Hochberg.
