No, you wouldn't use this for an all-day framing job, but for a quick rip through a piece of plywood, it's great -- especially when you don't want to drag out the big saw, yet another cord, etc. etc. I already have several Ryobi One tools, so did not need to invest in more batteries -- which makes the cost of this tool very reasonable. Note that this model has the battery on the side, which I think improves balance and makes the saw easier to use single-handed. Ryobi's earlier version had the battery attached on the back.

Replaced older model that finally failed after many years. This new model has better ergo and hopefully will last just as long.

This was bought from a collection that was being broken up. It doesn't have the "laser" that the current model at Home Depot has, but I didn't find that to be a reason to spend $15 more at Home Depot. The saw functions properly and suits my needs very well. I don't feel stuck in the Ryobi line just because I don't want to buy a battery form another manufacturer. I am pleased overall with my growing Ryobi collection.

Purchased this to replace the same saw that I burned out, so I know exactly what I was buying. Found that the secret to these saws is ensuring that you have the right blade for the materials you are cutting (wood vs OSB) and having a very full charge on the battery to maximize cutting power.Managed to get the serial number of the product registered on Ryobi's warranty site, so ligit product at maybe about $15 less than the store price.

Since I am not building houses, I decided to get rid of my OLD corded full-size circular saw and purchased this. So portable! So easy to use! Wish I had done this ages ago. This uses the same rechargable battery as my Ryobi nailer, and I have yet to have the battery run low while working on a project. Great saw.
