Almost perfect - your sump pump will fail you need a backup
I am quite pleased with this system, it was very easy to install and provides more monitoring than other systems I considered. I really like the color-coded connectors for connecting the backup pump and the two float switches. It makes setup quick, easy and essentially foolproof. The WIFI setup was a little slow to connect but it works fine once it connected. I also like the fact that the main pump is powered through the PumpSpy controller. It allows the controller to partially monitor the main pump. It can tell if the main pump is drawing too much current indicating a jammed or partially jammed impeller. It also monitors the main pump cycles. It infers the main pump has failed when the battery backup float switch is activated and the main pump is not drawing current. The on/off points for the backup pump are very close to one another. The pump will run for 10 secs or until the off switch is activated. Because the on/off points are close to one another, in most cases the cycle time for the backup pump will be 10 seconds. Total system failure, or excessive water seepage is indicated when the second float switch is activated. The battery backup pump is test cycled every other day to insure it is functioning, allowing a backup pump failure warning before it is needed. The main pump can't be tested this way because its float switch is in line with the pump power. If the main pump and its switch were connected to the controller separately, it would allow the main pump to be tested periodically like the backup pump. That would require PumpSpy to supply both the main and backup pumps since most sump pumps have the float switch integrated. As it is now, main pump failure will only be signaled by activation of the backup pump float switch. Separating the main pump float switch would add a further level of protection to an already quite complete monitoring system. I still give it 5 stars because, in my opinion it still offers more monitoring function than competing products.Update: installed in Aug, four months later, the first time my main sump pump was needed, it failed. It ran several times and then failed. It was an old pump and Pump Spy notified me by text that it had failed and the backup took over. Without Pump Spy, I wouldn't have known until the basement started to flood and then it would have been panic mode. No worries, the Pump Spy backup did the job and I replaced the main pump at my convenience. Your sump pump will fail, it is just a question of when not if. With this system, no worries!

Such a peace of mind!
Our basement flooded a while back which was a very upsetting and labor intensive experience. I recently installed the PumpSpy system after researching a number of sump pump backup solutions. We are on a well and septic so a battery backup system made the most sense. Installation was relatively easy. However, I did run into a bit of a snag using the PumpSpy dual pump installation kit (sold separately from backup system). The provided check valve housing was a bit too large in diameter, which proved to be incompatible with my existing sump pump. For a bit more work, but less cost, I purchased the required plumbing parts from a local home improvement store to complete the installation. I've tested the system several times, simulating a primary pump failure and it works like a dream. Text and email alerts were sent in a reasonable amount of time. The app records the event history of your pumps' activity which I found to be quite useful. With the installation complete, I have such a peace of mind. Thank you, PumpSpy!

Outstanding hardware, app needs work.
This would get 5 starts if the app was any good. For all the data that this system collects and monitor, the app is not user friendly and could use some very easy makeovers to allow users to better view the data in several different ways. For the large investment cost, I expect more feom the app.The hardware is great, easy to install, and extremely quiet. I'm very happy with the product overall and will always have peace of mind that my primary and backup pumps are working as they should!

Recommend
I first purchased the pump spy outlet and after a power outage decided to upgrade to the battery back up system.Installation In the sump was very easy although a bit tight. The phone app was also easy to install and works well. One suggestion to pump spy is improving the app to allow you to input pump capacity. The calculated pump volume is basically a generic assumption on pump size and run time and is not accurate. I understand that the idea is to create a trend for comparison and to identify and alert you to a deviation from the trend. This is the same for the outlet version. Also - if you purchase make sure you purchase a gel cell battery. Your standard lead acid car battery will work but will not last as long.Overall very happy and recommend

Horrible Customer Support on warranty claim
First, I really liked all of the features that the PS2000 system offered. Less than one year I suddenly received over 80 email notifications from the system and then lost all WiFi connectivity with the system. Indicator lights showed battery failure. I bought another PumpSpy battery ($200), put it in and still o WiFi. Next day, battery indicated bad. Pulled my primary pump and it cycles as it should. Battery pump would not cycle. Contacted customer support. Numerous emails from them asking for proof of purchase records (I provide three times), numerous copies of the email logs from the PS2000 controller, all sorts of excuses that may initial reporting of issues was lost. Then what OS does my cell phone have? So, I still have no functioning back up system that I have now invested over $900 (PS200 plus 2 batteries) and have lost all confidence that PumpSpy will send a replacement unit.

So far so good!
I have a very active sump. I've been looking for a Backup solution and monitoring system. The PumpSpy does both! Your main 120 Vac Sump Pump plugs into the controller. Your main pump needs its own Level control. A 12 Vdc powered Sump Pump comes with the system. The Pump Spy comes with 2 Level switches that both operate the Backup Pump. The app monitors both and connects via WIFI to the Pump Spy servers. Using the app you can see a history of each day for your Main Pump, Backup Up Pump, Water Level, Battery condition, and 120 Vac Supply. It does not come with a battery, that is sold separate. I also bought the PumpSpy battery and 2 Y-Check adapter into 1 Sump outlet. My Sump seems to only fail when I'm not home & this awesome system tells me everything I want to know. I've only had it installed a few months but so far so good!

Amazing Product and amazing company
I installed this unit about a month ago. Right from the opening of the box I was amazed by the quality of the pump. this thing had weight to it. A solidly purpose built pump. Not a re-purposed bilge pump. Amazing american made product. The installation is easy if you are handy with ABS or PVC plumbing, or just buy their fully assembled system. The pump itself is fully worth the cost. However, then you also get the incredible customer support and WIFI monitoring. I had an issue setting up the WIFI internet monitoring. These guys replied email after email quickly and right on the money. When finally nothing did the trick believe it or not they called me form the states and we went through the setup step by step finally discovering that the issue was my old cell phone. I used my wife's newer phone and 123 all was so easy and it worked. I have amazing access no matter where I am to detailed MAIN PUMP, on off cycles, est. gal pumped, length of running time, condition of battery, the unit even cycles the back up pump once a week and keeps the battery charged, tests and monitors it. All of this info and results are at your finger tips anywhere. Any issue and I get a notification. Oh and NO fee for the monitoring. I was also able to get a $60/year insurance discount. Thank you again PumpSpy. A great package and a piece of mind. PS: I am NOT paid for this review I simply am blown away that such quality, service and value is still available.

State of the art, easy to install, and many unique features
The system was rather easy to install without any professional assistance. Setting up the software was quite easy (once I resolved some technical issues with our own WIFI). But here is the key benefit: it works. Like they said it would. It reports activities of the main pump, it automatically tests the backup pump, and a complete diagnosis of the system is available on the App wherever you are. We are often away from home, and PumpSpy provides enormous peace of mind that my basement will not flood. I wholeheartedly recommend this product to all those who fear a flooded basement.

Terrible support
I purchased my Pump Spy unit in 2019. The power supply pack on top recently blew up tripping the breaker. When I contacted Pump Spy requesting to purchase another power pack, agreeing to pay all duties and exchange, I was informed they would not ship out of the USA. They said i should purchase another unit from Amazon. If you do not reside in the USA be aware they will not give you support or supply needed parts. Terrible service. Ridiculous

Well worth the price for peace of mind .
A bit more expensive than other Sump pump backup systems but definitely worth it. The free wifi monitoring phone apps with associated sms alerts give you peace of mind and allow you to assess your sump pump and backup systems usage and state remotely and easily. Apps and backup system were both very easy to install. Product looks well designed, robust and of excellent quality. I have had this system for only a few weeks so only time will tell on how reliable it is but so far, I and really happy with it and this product is working extremelly well for me. Highly recommended.

Very Satisfied
Love this thing. I check the app constantly to see how many times the sump came on etc. This thing is rock solid, even my plumber said this is not a cheapy sump pump it was actually better then the main pump i had. This is the 2nd back up I purchased as I have 2 sump pits at my house.
