Great value and gets the job done. Quality is sufficient for the price and low-volume operations. You will likely have to disassemble, adjust and lubricate after some use. This is not a high-precision tool, but it's a good value.

This tap handle is junk. I used it for a 1/2 inch tap and the jaw kept popping and coming open. It couldnt even hold up to a 1/2 inch tap. Thetes no way it would handle the stress of anything larger.

I got the 1/4"-1 1/8" version, and boy, between that and a little m3-m12 one, I can tap anything I please. someone stop me, or this wall's gonna get it. I have a tap wrench and even I don't know what size thread I'm gonna use. in all seriousness, I used an m22 tap with it, because, y'know. a square clamp works for everything.

I got this to tap something and just looked at the size of tap it would hold and when it arrived, I was shocked by the size of the thing. At least you can't complain about having not enough meat to grab while tapping.

Works great, wish I would have upgraded years ago. The tap wrench provides great leverage versus what was supplied with the tap set. I did clean and re-oil threads and slider prior to use to ensure smooth operation. I recommend this item.

I had asked a few questions before purchasing this tap wrench around the construction material. I had the smallest available which was 5/32" to 3/4" size. The item I received was mostly steel construction but the central piece was a zinc casting. Subsequently I found a number of these wrenches are made that way but for big taps I would not trust it. I returned the wrench without even trying it. It might be fine for some use cases but it wasn't for me.It is fairly easy to spot zinc die castings they will have some round ejector/sprue marks on them and they are non-magnetic.
