This printer saved my marriage
Okay, that headline was a boldfaced lie: I’m not married. But if I were married and if the grotesque price of ink cartridges threatened that marriage somehow, this printer might save that hypothetical marriage. It comes with two sets of ink bottles which each fully fill up the tanks from empty. When I first filled it there was a little ink left in each bottle, but after it settles and runs the test print I was able to get the rest in.Unlike the Canon Megatank printers which just have a stopper on an open hole to pour ink into, these have a keyed intake and air release. Why is that important? Because it not only prevents spilling ink, it prevents the much worse issue of putting the wrong ink into each tank and forever taunting the printer. I used to work in tech services, and you may be surprised how often that happens. It is a bit larger than I might truthfully want for a printer, but it’s certainly a lot smaller than a color laser printer and a lot cheaper to set up. Since it is an inkjet, you really ought to print something every 2 weeks even if only a single page to keep the ink from drying in the printhead. It does support remote printing, so you can do that from anywhere, even if away from home for an extended period. In terms of print quality, I am quite satisfied. Had I gone with a laser printer, I would not have this high dpi. That and the total setup cost were what pushed me to the Ecotank over laser.Personally, I don’t print that much and any paper I buy will last a long time. If you’re like me, I highly recommend getting a higher weight, higher brightness paper. I use Staples Premium 98 bright, 24lb paper, though any brand of the same will be indistinguishable. If you’re just printing text documents then that’s probably overkill unless it’s for a customer-facing document for your business. The difference is at once subtle yet definitely noticeable. For pictures I think 20lb paper feels cheap and 92 bright makes a poor canvas. Again, this is aimed at people who are looking primarily for print quality. You can’t judge that properly on crap paper. For those looking for economy and primarily printing, say, school papers, don’t bother with good paper. Good paper can be twice as expensive and you really don’t need it for printing out a recipe or essay or research article.

Great printer
This printer is an upgrade to an older Epson that uses cartridges. I did the math and the tank system is so much more affordable. I went with a renewed unit because I know that a unit that is renewed is tested to much more stringent standards and a few minor external scratches mean nothing if it works. I had some problems with the installation software. I am sure it is something on my network or laptop, but after trying everything I knew, I contacted support. They had me do a manual driver install (which I had already done) and were anxious to get me off the line. The printer and scanner work fine, but some functions of the software do not. I love the printer, but their support needs help.

One thing and more
UPDATE: So some time has passed and I have one complaint, now that we've resolved the ink issue and may never run out of ink again in my life time, which I am happy about. That one thing is the off button. It's a three step process. I mean, come on! Just make the power button an on/off switch. So annoying to have to toggle thru the screen option using a un-lit key board when shutting things down at night. My last Epson had a touch screen- a big one- so I miss this. I also wish for a card slot or usb drive, but I'm managing without it. Otherwise we're pretty happy with the printer and the quality of prints. I'm very glad not to have to hunt down ink during COVID and I love being able to print at high quality without feeling like I'll be to blame when my kid can't print out an assignment 'cause there's no more magenta.Actually, several things require multiple steps. Jammed paper is a three question process. Dumb.ANOTHER MAJOR COMPLAINT is that this printer does not scan two sides. I know I bought it thinking that it did. It was a primary requirement. Probably my fault, but it doesn't collate either so that's a total bummer.INITIAL REVIEW: So I just got my "renewed" eco tank printer. I have no idea if it works, because mine came with about 4 years worth of Cyan ink and NO YELLOW. AMAZON customer service says the machine will be fine and that's that. But here's the thing. I bought $99 dollar Epson Printer that by IT'S VERY DEFINITION comes with INK for $250. All I want bottles to do is swap ink bottles, but this is apparently an acceptable blunder to Amazon. As for all the CYAN, recall that I don't even know if the printer works, so I'm not too happy about being deeply invested in BLUE. Thanks Amazon. Meanwhile, if you should find you've got an excess of YELLOW INK, drop me a line. Maybe we can make a deal.

Simple to setup, works perfectly!
I am not a fan of renewed products, but could not pass this one up due to the price. The printer was well packed, came with all the accessories, manuals, CD's and ink it was supposed to. If I did not know this was a refurbished printer, honestly I would have thought it was new. Set it up wirelessly, loaded the ink and paper and in 10 minutes I was printing. The quality of the print is way better than my old HP printer, and the EcoTank means I am no longer wasting $600 + a year on outdated ink cartridges. This printer also has an auto document feeder, automatic dual sided printing, scanning and copying in full color. All this for only $40 more than the EPSON 2720 base model that has none of these features! If you want an EcoTank printer, this is an absolute steal!

Fantastic printer that saves you money!
I have had this printer for 2 weeks now and it is fantastic! I have printed over 800 pages so far (at least 500 were full color) and the ink is not even down to the top line yet (and that is only one of the two sets of ink bottles that come with it!) The wireless printing was super easy to set up. The double sided printing is a bit slow, but I just switched from a black and white laser printer, so it’s just an adjustment. I love love love my printer! As a homeschooling mama, it saves so much money.
