Size(s) run small, lights failed very quickly
After visiting the StrideRite store in the Northshore Mall, Peabody, MA - my son fell in love with these over-priced Star Wars sneakers. They fitted him in the store (size 11 per their measurements) but did not have them in stock... so we went home and ordered the size 11 from Amazon, got them super-fast (absolutely no complaints from Amazon.com service, of course) and tried them on. The first thing I noticed was the velcro straps were very stiff - likely due to the wires and lights in them (not such a great functional design idea, IMO) and that they barely bent down to clasp when my sons foot was in the shoe. We got them on - and I could tell he thought thy were cool, but not comfortable. Of course not! His toes were pushed right to the front of the toe box...We returned them, ordered the next size up - and basically had the same issues but were now at the end of the toddler sizing line, and did not see the same model available in the next size up. They just fit too small - or the sales clerk at the store totally mis-measured us (unlikely). The silver lining here is that this experience helped inform the discussion that $50 sneakers with Star Wars branding all over them are not inherently better (nor do they help you run faster!) than the $10 ones with no fancy branding from, say - Target - nor do they fit better. Quite the contrary. The upshot besides the let-down, and lost shipping costs and time - was that we're (read: my son) now more 'savvy' about purchases like this. Does George Lucas need more money? No, certainly not. Does my son need sneakers that fit well, work well, open / close / come on / off well? Yes indeed. Lesson learned. So we're stuck with the 2nd pair - as they fit 'well enough' to try for a week or two - but then were simply not comfortable - too small, and too hot, and the lights on the straps started not working anyhow... in the end these were a major Stride-Rite fail, as we have had OK luck with their shoes in the past. For a kiddo with with smaller / narrower feet than average (my son is proportionally normal) they may be OK. For $50 they ought to be a lot more than 'OK'. I'd say that $50 for kids shoes would be much better spent at REI or LL Bean - or at Target on 3-5 pairs.

Lights Didn't All Work
I was very disappointed with these shoes and wish I would have paid more attention to the reviews I saw about the lights not working properly. I ordered them from Amazon. The shoes looked great out of the box and my son loved them. They seemed to be good quality sneakers, but when we tested the lights out for the first time we were disappointed to discover that one of the lights did not work. The ones that did work seemed to be almost too bright and a bit distracting. I didn't think they would be good school shoes. I sent these back and ordered a nice pair of Stride Rite sneakers without lights. My son loves them and doesn't mind that they don't light up. A word of caution... it's best to buy light up shoes in the store where you can test the lights to make sure they all work and aren't too bright.

Product looks nice but lights didn't work
The Star Wars shoes were a big hit for Christmas, however, one shoe didn't light up as the other which really disappointed my child. I returned the product and am hoping a second order may prove me wrong and if so, will update this. I ordered 2 separate Stride rite shoes and they were the same size, but not the same fit. The others were wider, whereas these were more narrow. If your child has wide feet I'd recommend you get the wide size. The other pair were a nice fit but these were definitely smaller than the other ones but the other ones didn't have lights like these or a theme from a cherished movie. I'd recommend only if the shoes would stay lit, which I hear is a problem on almost any lightup shoes. They were nice looking and well built and if not for the lights, I would have tried stretching them in order to keep them. Sometimes a foot "boot" will widen a shoe enough to wear (my child has slender feet so these are narrow). We ordered a wider size since it was already a returned item so we will see how the next ones do. We want to give them another try because they were very nice loooking and my child loved them in looks. Stride rite has a good reputation for shoes that are well made and long lasting thought this is the first two pair I've purchased. The other one is comfortable according to my child.

Great shoes! cool lights
Great velcro. Great fit. Cool blue lights. Lots of compliments because they are different than the spiderman shoes that everyone is wearing!

Looked so nice
I don't know I should rate this....I ordered this "Lighted Clone Wars Sneaker" for my Star Wars Crazy son. But instead of this one, I received "Death Vader Tie Fighter Sneaker".I was thinking about returning, but we live in oversea as military family and there is no time to return and get new one for the Christmas. So we kept Vader Tie Sneaker and as I suspected, my son loved it. I guess it is just have to be Star Wars shoes.

Star Wars by Stride Rite shoes
My son loves these. They are comfortable and wear well! He grew out of them before he needed new ones! Unfortunately they only go up to size 3 so this will be his last pair. If they made them larger I would keep buying them.

Son Loves Them
My 6 year old son loves these shoes. I only by Stride Rite since he has flat feet and he is really comfortable in them. THe flash is not too crazy, so he can wear it with his school uniform. They look nice. I would/will buy again.
