STAPLES Hyken Ergonomic Mesh Task Chair with Lumbar Support, Swivel, Gray

I bought this chair for long gaming sessions and late night web browsing, and it is an absolute lifesaver. Usually, after sitting for a few hours, I feel like I need to schedule an immediate appointment with a chiropractor. With this chair, I can sit for hours on end and my back feels perfectly fine afterward. No doctor visits required! The Highlights: The Cushion: Excellent padding. My booty has absolutely no complaints, even after a marathon session. Support: The back and lumbar support are fantastic. The headrest is decent too, though it functions more like a neck support for me which still gets the job done. The Build: Putting it together was shockingly simple. It took me less than an hour to build, and I didn't even lose my temper once. Aesthetics: The gray mesh looks sleek, modern, and keeps things cool so you don't overheat during intense moments. Verdict: This thing feels durable enough to last me for a very long time. You truly cannot beat the comfort and quality you get at this price point. If you want top-tier ergonomic support without spending a month's rent, buy this chair. Your spine will thank you.

I bought this to replace my old, el cheapo office chair that was falling apart and was causing me to slouch very badly. It was that type of office chair that was some cushion on top of plywood that you'd be feeling after 20 minutes. I was searching for a chair and at the time, needed something that was very affordable. I decided on this one because it was mesh and one of my friends with really bad back problems got it after doing lots of research, and he recommended it to me. When I got this chair in... oh my gosh.... you cannot possibly understand how life-changing it is to have a proper, solid office chair, especially if you're like me and spend hours each and every day at your desk, in your chair. I'm 5' 7" 120lbs, this chair supports me perfectly, headrest is at the perfect height. The mesh is great, very breathable and supportive. The modularity is great, you could strip the entire thing down to a stool if you so desired. I keep the arm rests off to make getting in and out of the chair easier, and sometimes I detach the headrest when playing VR while sitting. I understand they're forced to do this to fit the chair into a smaller box for cheaper shipping, but it's still appreciated. The build quality is... well, plastic, but pretty hard and solid plastic. The back shroud that covers the metal bracket that mounts the back rest to the seat is the weakest point and has cracked, but otherwise it's been great after 2 and a half years of continuous use. And let's be real, you can't complain about build quality at this price point. Overall, definitely get it if you can. Do not hold off on it and consider buying something else, yeah a new graphics card is cool and all but framerates don't matter if it hurts to sit in your chair. You'd think I'm joking, but my buddy I mentioned earlier messed up his back after years of construction work and a bad motorcycle accident. He has a triple screen 1440p 144hz setup with a 4090 but there's days where he wants to play and can't because of his back pains. Bought this product a few days ago and now have had it for a few days now, so I can give a short review on it. So far its been a pretty good upgrade from my previous chair, and has been extremely comfortable to sit in, even after hours of use. The quality for the most part is very well done and the features on this chair are quite nice with the mesh padding and lumbar support, and I really enjoy being able to lean and tilt backwards when I want. Overall the sitting quality is a 5/5. As for what I somewhat disliked/am disappointed about with the chair, it would have to be build time and the headrest. Firstly, as a somewhat weaker person, as well as assembling it alone, it was a pain to put together. It took roughly 2 hours to finish the chair doing it alone, though that was mostly just putting the chair together. I would recommend getting someone else to help when it comes to building the chair as the positions can be quite awkward when twisting the screws into each part. As for the second part of what I was disappointed with, ultimately it was the headrest snapping off before a full day of use. Whether I twisted the screws on too tight or if it was not design for more than a pound or two of force, I'm not sure. Still it ended up snapping right off while testing the chair out on the first day, so be wary of that if you want to use it long term. Likely it was a combination of too much force and screwing it on way too tight, but it is not designed to take much force at all. Other than that, the instructions were practically perfect with the visual representations and everything else about the chair has been working in good order. It is quite compact too, so it can fit in smaller spaces which makes it a plus since I don't have a lot of space in my room. The extra features with tilt control, height adjustments, lumbar support, and the armrests are exactly as advertised, so no problems there either. Pretty good chair for the price tag, with only a couple of issues at best.

Literally the most comfortable computer chair I've ever sat in. Mesh makes it so you don't get too hot. Lots of adjustments to make it fit you perfectly. My husband and I both have one. Very sturdy and good quality.

Delivered as promised, easy to assemble, comfortable. I'd buy this again. There is something interesting, this is a Staples item. Originally, I went to Staples to find a chair. I found this chair and it was on sale in the store for $259.00. It appeared to be a good value. I then went on Amazon to see if I could find a similar chair. I was surprised to see this chair offered by Staples, however, it was now $200.00. Moral of the story...1) don't trust Staples, 2) always compare prices. the 5 minutes it took me to go to Amazon saved me $50.00...that's like being paid $600.00 per hour.

Very good and sturdy chair that I have been using for years. Easy to assemble and can hold a lot of weight. Highly recommended!

The majority of the chair is very comfortable except for the AWFUL lumbar support. Trying to sit in this chair is like trying to sit in any other office chair except you have a foam roller digging into your lumbar region. It causes me to sit with an extremely uncomfortable and exaggerated arch on the lowest setting. The tilt lock is incredibly mushy and it takes a lot of strength to pull up high enough to engage it. It is a very poor quality mechanism that I think mine may be broken. The worst part of all of this is that I started a return process and was told that I had to completely repackage the chair. I thought that was completely reasonable until I had to actually try to disassemble it. The center hydraulic is IMPOSSIBLE to remove from the 5 star plastic base! I am a big guy 6' 2" 200lbs+ and I could not get it to budge. I asked them how they recommend detaching the pieces and they told me to Youtube it (without actually sending me an link or anything), so I do and I find out I should be using a rubber mallet and possibly some WD-40. I buy all these things and I hit it with all my might many many times while suspended between two wooden chairs and it still won't budge. The mallet is getting destroyed and I have rubber chunks all over my floor now. I explain this to them and this is how they reply - "You may return items to us within 30 days of receiving the shipment for credit, provided the items are in their original packaging. If you can not get the return in one box, since you have two return labels from Amazon, you can place the item in two separate boxes." For starters how do I keep the the item in its original packaging (1 desk chair box) but also in two boxes... Secondly, I only have one return label... Thirdly, they have taken at least a day to respond to each of my questions even when I reply within 15 mins. This is not your usual amazon sale as it is staples third party so the ease of returns that amazon usually has apparently doesn't apply here. TLDR; Don't buy this chair unless you've tried it in store first as the return is near impossible to complete and the chair is incredibly uncomfortable.

Excellent chair! I'm 6'3 and this is very comfortable. I didn't expect it to be so wide but it fits me perfectly. Lumbar has been reported to be hard on the back but it hasn't hurt me at all.

Headrest: FIrst of all, the headrest is counterproductive. I know this is an ergonomic chair and it's designed to make you sit straight but this feels like it might give me a hunch back. There's also no way I can sit on this for more than 15 mins. When I work, I need to be comfortable enough to work for hours and this just frustrates me while I work. Seat length Secondly, I read some reviews about this before purchasing but didn't think it was that big of a deal. But NOPE! I was dead ass wrong! The seat length is way too short!!!!!. It's uncomfortably to short and I'm 5'10. Not sure if it was built like that intentionally or it was just built for a 5'5 person. Everything else is fine, but these 2 reasons break the deal for me!!!! I sold it to someone else as a result

It's the same chair I tested in store at staples, and it's not as comfy because it's brand new. But once it's broken in. I expect it to be comfy. It's got an airy seat so if you get hot down there, there's ventilation. Depending on your height if you're +175cm/5'9 i don't recommend it, since you'll sit past the head rest which cannot be adjusted. It helps me sit up straight compared to my old gaming chair, and for my height it's comfy enough. Just need the seat to sag a little so the height goes down a bit. Assembling it took some work, but not impossible to do alone. I would recommend this chair if you're not taller than 175cm/5'9
