GROW UP JAPAN SMART DRIVE Classic (Made in Japan)

It does reduce seeking noise quite a bit, but it's not the kind of noise I was expecting to silence. My WD Black resonates a lot with the computer case and produces loud low frequency vibration noises. The smart drive enclosure does not reduce that low frequency noise at all. The enclosure simply starts to vibrate just as much as the hard drive itself does. So unfortunately I had to stick to my DIY method of suspending the hard drive on foam and not using any screws. I hope to fully switch to SSDs in the future.

I'm using a WD Red inside this box. It was already relatively silent without the box, and is only marginally more quiet with it. I had hoped it would be dead silent, but it's still clearly audible.Apart from that, the build quality is excellent, it feels solid and everything fits in perfectly.

I am in the pursuit of ultimate silence. This device does a fantastic job of allowing my mechanical temp storage drive to run at an acoustically transparent level. I would certainly purchase this over again.

I read from a user that this drive enclosure doesn't help with vibration, however, it appears this may be dependent on the drive, the case, and the mounting method when comparing with and without this drive enclosure.The manufacturer claims this unit decreases the noise level up to 30%. Tests by a reputable reviewer back this up showing a 2-3 dB (decibel) difference. With solid state drives getting bigger and cheaper quickly these kinds of enclosures will disappear from the market. This box eliminates high frequency sounds from the drive, but not the mid range or bass. You can still hear a soft muffled grinding sound from the drive when the PC is booting, otherwise it’s pretty quiet and certainly a lot quieter than with no case at all! The product seems quite expensive for what it is, that being, just a metal box with some padding on the inside. Given the price, I think this product is worth about 3 stars. I only bought it because a 2TB solid state drive weighs in at a whopping £600, which is far too much compared to £80 for the Smart Drive box. I’ll wait a while for the price of the solid state drives to come down. Please note that this box will occupy a whole slot in the CD/DVD/BLURAY part of your PC case. If you purchase this box, make sure you have a free slot in your case, or can lose a DVD-ROM drive. The box can be fitted in such a fashion that it can be hidden behind a blank panel on the front of your PC case, but it does protrude a little backwards into the PC, perhaps an inch or so over a regular DVD-ROM drive, so bear that in mind.

抜群の静音性です。5400rpm程度のHDDならほぼ無音です。7200rpmを超えるとどうなるかわかりません。放熱性はよくないので5400rpm以下のHDDの使用にとどめておくべきでしょう。ヘアライン加工された分厚いアルミ製なので意外と高級感があります。付属のSATA延長ケーブルが抜けやすく、認識不良の原因になることがありました。

ＨＤＤを追加したらシーク音がちーちー言うので気になって買いました。見事に静音化できた上、アルミ板にブツが直にくっついているので多分冷えてるでしょう。がんがん仕事出来ますわー。

他に静音を謳う５インチマウンタをいろいろ試したがどれもこれもゴミでした最後にこれしかないというところで購入見事に黙らせてくれましたありがとう。
