Marantz Professional PMD620 MKII | Handheld Broadcast Recorder with Passcode & File Encryption (Mic + 2 LINE Inputs)

I bought this to record as a back-up in the courtroom I am a court reporter in. It does a terrific job! So far it has help up to the wear and tear and it was worth every penny.

much smaller than one used as a multi connection /Cameras and photo journalistic use/had seen a larger unit used at photo op and was told it was aMarantz. Very disappointed with the size.. Sound quality is very good bit this size lacks heavier microphone attachments

I just wish it wouldn't let you hear sound unless it's recording. I've forgotten to unpause it a few times. Otherwise, it's wonderful!!!

Great quality device. I love that it came with a belt clip - super helpful for hands-off recording. I used it to record walking tours. I hooked it on my belt loop and just it run. It did a great job picking up a range of voices at decent distances, which is exactly what I needed. It has more settings and functions than I have bothered to figure out, so I might could have done with a less expensive device. But it does what I need it to do, so I am happy with the purchase!

I am involved in the Library of Congress program to interview veterans and to preserve their stories and experiences. For the project, I needed a professional recorder. I ordered the Marantz and am very pleased with its performance. it is easy to use and does a very professional job of recording history while we still have veterans with us to tell us all their stories.

I received the recorder in October 2018 and have used it 8-10 times. Now the screen is frozen. After reading online reviews it appears this is not uncommon. Someone suggested removing the batteries which I did numerous times and the screen is still frozen. I went to my Amazon account intending to return the recorder and it's past the return date. So I paid over $300.00 for a recorder of poor quality with a 30 day return policy. Shame on me for not checking the return policy prior to purchasing. Makes one wonder the legitimacy of the great product reviews which I considered before purchasing.

This replaces an older Marantz unit that is 10 years old. Nice to go to SD after using compact flash cards. Very compact but not too small to be hard to use.
