Awesome velocity sensitive midi USB keyboard why pay more. I produce my own original music in my home professionally and a guy I met online a few years back, that loved my music, sent the Avid Key Studio to me, along with an awesome acoustic guitar and a copy of Pro-tools SE, a retarded version of the full version of Pro tools Music Recording industry standard program that rock's by the way, but to make a long story short, if it wasn't for this keyboard and the program that he sent me to record my music, I wouldn't be signing my first major publishing contract this week, so this is the bomb, I use it everyday to program tight really rythfat ,real sounding popin drums,bass, strings you name it and and orchestra of insraments at my fingertips, and God blesses me with anointed melodies and lyrics that sooth the soul, so yes I recommend this keyboard and I bought and extra just in case I wear this one out lol.. all true though, awesome USB powered easy to use dream machine.You can check out my work at [ ... ] email [email protected] to inquier about production. Now people get this keyboard and don't forget amazon Prime, free 2 day shipping on almost every item worth having and I'll tell you a secrete, I get my stuff the next day and I have already, in one week, gotten great deals on all kinds of Items I needed and cant ever seem to remember when at the store or they don't have it at wall mart so I just order things as I remember them I mean no shipping and 2nd day that's expensive you know and the stuff I purchased wasn't light but very heavy and would have cost approx 200 dollars to ship and I paid nothing and got killer deals on everything , Don't see how Amazon can make a dime on the Amazon Prime, I feel like I'm steeling, lol OK over and Out. When I bought this keyboard, I was in desperate need for one. All I required was a MIDI controller, and this fit the bill at the time and price range I could afford. While I wish the keys would have been better, with either more resistance or aftertouch, it's a fine enough keyboard for composing. The included ProTools software didn't get much use from me, I'm an FL Studio/REAPER guy, but the included sound card was much appreciated. That itself made this entire purchase worth it, honestly.All in all, stable controller for composition, but missing too many features to be a solid performance machine. Included ProTools software was almost useless in my case. Included M-Audio hardware was much appreciated, though.

I used AVID video editing suite in college about 10 years ago and the superior quality of the software always stood out. Up until recently though, I always avoided a personal purchase due to the great cost of expenditure for basic suites. Now that I took the plunge again for video editing, I was in need of mixing software that would allow composition of basic scores and along came an Amazon deal too good to pass up. Bundled together with the software, this is exactly what I needed. Despite some limitations in terms of ease of use initially, I was able to create several tracks all of different instruments and port it over to complimentary editing suite. I hope to get more familiar with software in time especially with voice capture but for the deal I got of hardware and software, one cannot beat the total package AVID offers.

I looked at the Avid website and my computer met the specifications as they have listed.The software installed and I plugged the keyboard in. The lights were lit, but when I try to start the software, it keeps saying that it can't find the hardware.It might have been very nice if it had worked.

I was excited about this product, but I couldn't get it to install correctly on Win7. The software installed fine, which took about 30 minutes, but the drivers wouldn't install. It kept crashing and then closing. I even download the drivers from the website. I tried it on 2 computers with the same result. When I plugged in the keyboard, the computer was able to install the driver. However, the software couldn't find the keyboard and so I couldn't use it at all. I returned it on the same day!

This keyboard works very well for me. I use it for playing around, composing original music for home movies and teaching my kids to play. It works well with GarageBand, and plugs into an iPad (with the usb camera adapter) for a great portable GarageBand experience.Pros:-Most importantly, it sounds really good.-It comes with an extensive array of musical instruments.-It is light and portable.-It is inexpensive.Cons:-Requires a dongle for connecting speakers and microphone. Not a big deal, but why?-Key pressure sensitivity could be better, but it's easy to adjust to this. Don't expect a Gershwin Baby Grand experience for this price.I expect to get many years of service from this general purpose but quality oriented instrument.

i was looking around for a good quality MIDI controller to plug into my iMac for garageband. i stumbled across this one and couldnt pass it up because the price was too good to keep looking.i bought a refurbished keyboard but it came in legit packaging and it also came with the pro tools software.i was very satisfied with the packaging as well as the keyboard itself.its very light weight but it seems like it will be durable.i like that i could just plug it into my computer and garageband recognized it immediately and i was able to start playing right then and therethis is my first MIDI controller so i didnt go all out but in my opinion its a very good controller for anyone whos looking for something to start out with
