Grohe has awesome products
I must be nuts to write this due to the fact that I had purchased two systems from Amazon (over half price each system) due to the fact that you will wait for ever to get parts from Grohe and I find the customer service to be good, just remember you are dealing with customer service in Chicago and they had have a bit of attitude, but if you take your time with them "be cool" you will find that they are good people, like sending me one part Fed-X for free. Not here is where my problems started and I cannot blame Grohe, my plumber when the lines were split and converted to fix the Grohe system did not flush out the pipes prior to install, the fine plumbing junk got into the valve through the back filter screens and also fouled the check valves. Here's what I learned the hard way, be careful not to blame Grohe and read the back of the fold out page and perform the yearly maintenance on the system, it's easy pull the valve off and clean the screens, now if you have water with lots of fine particles you can take the time. and pull out the check valves, I had talked with one of the professional Grohe support desk for plumbers and he told me if the check valves had real fine debris in them, the system would still work perfect without them. But again, our problem was from the plumber not cleaning the lines before install and my approach was just switch out the new control valve and the system works perfect. I took the old system apart, Grohe sent me the parts and I overhauled it. We will install the 2nd unit into our 3rd shower for guest. Here's some lessons learned, make sure you tell the plumber to clean the lines and tape off the top of the valve while he's drilling the holes above it to keep the drill dust out of the valve. Watch You Tube and this company in overseas has an outstanding install video and the install time for the outside work is no more then 45 min. I did it in 20 mins, which also required me to take off the unit and heads, although I did not have to mount the top bracket. We have Grohe products in our home, be it the two faucets for the kitchen, one faucet for the wet bar, 6 faucets for the bathrooms and their products are awesome. One word of caution, remember that you are buying a custom shower system and you cannot run down to Howe Depot and get parts.....but you can order them from web sites online and have parts in two days. So if the plumber does his job correctly and you do the yearly maintenance if you water, or pipes have build up and release material into the filter screens, you can clean up the system and it will be working perfect again.

"System" that doesn't rain h20 gently on my head, but sprays my $ rapidly down my pretty new drain
When we made the decision to go ahead and take the plunge (more on that later) and convert the Mother-in-Law suite attached to our 1936 home, there were no doubts that a studs-out project was going to be expensive. The suite itself is only 17' x 13' or so with a 5' x 7' en-suite. We expected from the beginning to blow the already generous budget, knowing that everything was likely to be problematic. Asbestos? Check. Electrical nightmare? Check. 1/2" crack running through the slab? Got it.My tile man spent nearly 60 days on this project, somehow managing to get Carrara subway tile to appear perfectly square on walls that were shaped like fun house mirrors from warped studs. Ditto for the bathroom, but and even more challenging because of my insistence on white subway tile again, black horizontal stripes, and more Murano tile than I even want to talk about.I wasn't shy with the checkbook when it came to buy a shower system, so long as it satisfied two criteria: 1.) it had to be sleek and chic, to not confuse the Art-Deco references integrated into the small bath's design, and 2.) it needed to be bulletproof, because there's no access panel behind it and it's entirely surrounded by new tile. The Grohe "Euphoria" arrived near the end of February, where it lived in its box for over a month. When the plumbers arrived in early April (yes, 2 unaffiliated licensed plumbers) and slit the unit from its box, where it had been flat-wrapped to something resembling a stretcher, I was very glad to be paying them, not vice-versa. The directions, to me at least, were incomprehensible, largely due to the complete lack of verbiage contained (omitted), despite a plethora of what appeared to be very "German" micro-parts -- and that comes from someone who adores his German car.The gentlemen Plumbers deciphered the treasure map and the system was assembled and on the wall, tied into the previously-installed h20 stems -- plum, level, and 5 7/8" (150mm) apart. Aside from disappointment about the shoddy build-quality of the wand, the shower head, and the faucet-turns, which were much more VW than Porsche, I had high hopes. But that's about the time my heart sank, plunged really, to the pit of my stomach. The "thermodynamic" thermostat is everything except dynamic. Cold, 40-degree water without a drop of hot finding a mixture, until the temp. "control" knob is rotated around its axis to the point that -- whoosh -- all 140-degrees of hot pouring out of both the want and showerhead, without warning, and without compromise. Both of the kind plumbers have reached out to Grohe, as I have, to no response whatsoever. The "system," apparently designed it to systematically disappoint me, is a systemic failure. I take no joy in being over a grand out of pocket, after being under a rush of scalding water, with no assistance in sight. We made a significant investment in improving our home so that our guests and family would never feel like they should stay in a hotel, which is were we, but not for the other w/c's in the main house, would find ourselves. If we could afford that after wasting $1000 on this little slice of "Euphoria." -np-

Excellent replacement system for hansgrohe outdoor shower that would not stop dripping. The handles are a joy to use and the wand system works great. This is near the ocean in salt water air and the finish is already starting to pit. I expect that because there's hardly a shower out there that can handle those conditions. Our old one was brass patina when we removed it and it's original color was brushed satin. This one looks to be heading down the same path

Great design for function and simplicity of use
Great design for function and simplicity of use. Please be aware that holding the rough in dimension as given by Grohe will leave 1/4"+ of threads exposed between escutcheon trim @ wall and nut @ shower body. When Grohe was contacted about this I was told that was acceptable ( " If I don't like it, move the rough in deeper into wall".) Wall is closed. Tiled . At that price point it is unacceptable to see threads. Ignore their rough in dims and mock it up. Grohe customer service 1/2 star.

We're very happy :)
We love ours. Very beautiful and sleek over our clawfoot tub (we kept the original bath faucet for it but needed to add a shower). The knobs are slightly confusing at first but not a big deal. The left side toggles handheld vs rain shower, the right side is the temperature control, which we rarely have to touch. Good water pressure, not too light but not too strong either, very gentle and pleasant showering experience. We researched a ton and looked at the other Grohe models and also considered Hansgrohe (my sister likes hers) but this was the least expensive for what we wanted (handheld + overhead rain shower) while still looking modern, sleek, and elegant.
