Q: why does it have paraben in it? I do not use anything with parabens in the ingredients list.

It contains parabens for the same reason as many othere creams: they are the most widely used preservatives in personal care productsbto stop fungus, bacteria, and other microbes from growing in the product, especially in the moist, warm environment of a bathroom.

Q: Does it smell like wine? I think i might have a spoiled bottle.

I don't even notice the scent when I put it on. For curiosity sake I opened the jar to see what it smelled like, and I think it has a pleasant floral scent.

Q: is this too much for oily skin?

I have mega oily skin and there's no problem with this product. My skin feels very balanced using this and isn't a grease field in the morning.
