Love these cord sets. The wrapped cords are just a little more in price but look much better hanging than the standard plastic cord. Just add a ceiling hook and a shade and you can have overhead light virtually anywhere! The Amazon price is a little more expensive than going directly to Ikea, but it saves the hassle if that's not convenient for you. I had just returned from a trip to Ikea and decided I wanted another one and ordering from Amazon for a few more dollars was worth not driving across town through traffic again.

Mostly happy with this trendy light. The 15 foot cord is awesome- I can hang it from the ceiling or wrap it around a bracket on the wall. It's IKEA, so most people are familiar with their quality. I trust their products; this lamp doesn't feel cheap or weak. I love the look and feel of the black and white fabric.Things I do not care for: no on/off/dimmer switch, boring plastic socket. The socket is built for attaching a lampshade, but I have no intention of doing so.I ultimately chose this cord over similar items sold by LampLust because of the price ($20 IKEA v $35 LL). I decided later that I wanted a vintage style bulb like what comes with the LampLust products, which cost around $8. So if I could do this over, I would buy the LampLust textile pendant lamp since it was the total package (long cord, fabric covered, on/off switch, more attractive socket, vintage bulb), but it is too late and the IKEA lamp will be fine.

Quick and easy way to make a hanging lamp!I wish the cord had a switch in it though, I cut the wire and soldered one in, making it very nice and usable, but not everyone has these tools.

this was exactly what I was looking for. a simple hanging light socket for our spare bedroom. it works just as described and looks good doing it.

The Ikea cord is a good price and quality but I didn't realize there was no switch to turn on or off the light.
