WS Game Company Scrabble Deluxe Edition Rotating Wooden Cabinet Board Game

I love this deluxe Scrabble set! Scrabble is my favorite game and I have been wanting a set like this for a long time and my daughter actually bought this for me as an early Christmas present after seeing the Black Friday price reduction. It was about $100 and I must say, it’s worth it (especially with this sale) because it is lovely, well-made, and will probably last my lifetime and be handed down thereafter. It is made with real wood and elegantly designed, addressing every wish I had with my old set. It has raised grooves so the letter tiles stay put from knocks and such. It turns so you don’t have to strain your neck or do eye gymnastics to see the words right side up. The top comes off and everything you need is housed in it. It’s so nice, I opted to put it on our coffee table for easy access and even solo games (yes, I sometimes play two trays so I can play by myself!) It’s a great set for Scrabble lovers and being able to keep it out has started many spontaneous games with daughter and friends. Just love, love this set!

My wife and I love love love playing scrabble. This board makes it even more enjoyable!! Why: - Base Swivels 360 degrees - Ridges between blocks keep your tiles from drifting around the board (when "certain" players get to exited during game-play :-) - Nicely made wooden tiles for each letter - If you need to set the game aside and come back to it later everything stays in place! - Huge storage area inside for the tiles, a note pad (that comes with it and a pen) with room left over. - It's actually a very well made show-piece, like a well made chessboard, we display ours on a table when not playing it. It always received LOTS of compliments This is the second one we have owned. The first one was a gift from a client who knew we loved scrabble. We did some extended traveling out of the country and sold most of our stuff before we left and donated it to a local club. We knew as soon as we came back to the U.S. we wanted to buy another one, so we bought it as a gift to each other for our 9th Anniversary. If you love playing games and you're an adult, why not spend a little more money and own something nice like this board, that you will get many years of enjoyment from. Highly Recomended :-)

This is a well constructed game board with lovely wood tiles. It was well packaged and arrived with no damage. My family loves this game and has eliminated a few skirmishes because the tiles stay put when you swing the board around, LOL!

I can’t say enough good things about this game and the company that makes it. Yes, it’s pricey. But it’s also beautiful and well made. When it arrived I noticed a minor defect in the plastic grid that holds the letters. It had raised off the surface slightly. I felt silly writing the company about it, but they included a card with the set saying they would take care of any issues. They wrote me back quickly, and even without showing them a receipt promptly replaced the entire set. And they said I could donate the old one — still quite nice. I’ve honestly never had this good of a customer service experience. They were warm and understanding all throughout the process. I recommend the game and company!

Excellent quality. My husband and I enjoy playing Scrabble, and the craftsmanship of this product enhances the enjoyment of the game. The wood tiles are easy to use, and the ridges in the board keep the tile in place. The swivel base works well, giving each player a perfect viewing advantage.

Wow - the wood frame and letters, the felt that holds the pieces inside, the swivel base - it's all well done. When they say "Deluxe" edition, they really do mean deluxe. The only thing not included is the latest scrabble dictionary, but you can order that online. We have an old scrabble board that we'll keep for nostalgia, but this will be the one we play on. I like that the letters are kept aligned with ridges in the playing board. There are little colored arrows printed on the adjacent squares to the double- and triple- letter and word squares. This tells you the multiplier under placed letters if you forget while scoring your word. The game is big and heavy: for storage, plan on taking up some space on your game shelf, and probably not the top shelf.

Only gave 4 stars because I just received it and don't want to write an over-exaggerated review a few hours after receiving it. 1. Delivery: Right on Time. Ordered Tuesday, Amazon Prime 2 Day shipping. 2. Packaging: WOW! I'm not complaining as I am always nervous about getting things through delivery. Am always afraid it will be damaged in transit, but this was very positive. The packaging was a little cumbersome, 1 Large Box from Amazon, 1 Smaller, fitted box secured by corner wedges surrounding the actual games box. Inside the game box, the board was wrapped in a felt-like plastic paper with more corner wedges to ensure it doesn't slide around. Took a little to remove. Inside the board is all the pieces, all individually wrapped themselves. Not having to pay for 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime and not only getting it on time, but nice an snug and secure; Can't beat that. 3. Appearance: Beautiful look. I Love the score book, but I made custom score cards on my computer and don't think that I'll ruin the nice booklet that houses the score sheets. I love how you can store everything in side the board itself. Makes it easier to store the pieces, even though being a solid board as it is, it wont quite fit were I store the rest of my board-games. 4. Game-play: NOTE ON TILES: Not sure what all the fuss is about, the tiles are beautiful. I have not only overhead lighting, but it's fluorescent and I have no problem seeing them at any angle. Can't attest to how they'll hold up, as I stated, I have only had it a few hours and haven't actually played it yet, but I have tendency to baby my beloved purchases. I love the raised borders on the game itself. I am very OCD and hate playing on a classic cardboard version as the tiles are clumsy and always slide around. I love that it is basically a turntable as well. I can play upside-down, but this makes it a whole of a lot easier.

Growing up my mother would play scrabble with me and my siblings to help us with spelling. We loved those family game nights. In 2000 my mom got very sick. We got her the original deluxe scrabble (not pictured). To help past the time. It was great and played a huge part in her healing. It gave her peace of mind. In 2006 she was diagnosed with cancer. We would take the scrabble board to the hospital for her chemo treatments. Unfortunately she passed in 2007. When we moved her things the board was damaged. I was devastated. Didn’t play scrabble again for years. When my son reminded me of the memories with grandma and scrabble I went on a search to find that board. I couldn’t. So I settled on this one. But it turned out to be even better than the old one. It is a very sturdy wood board that easily turns. It’s the perfect size. And the storage compartment holds all the pieces plus has extra space for additional items. I love this board. We added a few pieces from my moms board and have regular scrabble game nights again. This board will be past down for generations. Mom would be proud.

The board is beautiful but let down by build quality. When removing the board from the box it was immediately apparent that the raised edges of the board were not properly glued or pinned in place as two of them pulled away from the edge of the board. Easily fixed with some superglue but I expected better build quality from a premium product at this price.

Bought this for a Birthday gift, recipient couldn’t be happier, arrived undamaged due to being extremely well packed, it’s well made, love the tile grids, handy when you give the board a good spin (none fall out) Beautifully presented, with score book, racks, tiles & bag stored under the lid. If I had to say anything negative, it would be the light weight tile racks, surprised me at how light they are … although it hasn’t affected playing the game … it’s a pleasure to play, and see enjoying playing Scrabble for many years ahead with it.

If you are a lover of Scrabble then this is the board for you. I have had this particular version for over 20 years. I have gifted it for those I know that love Scrabble. The board is clearly durable as I have had mine for over 20 years. Beautiful wood. It is a joy to play on this board as the tiles do not move around and you can 'spin' the board to your hearts content. Highly recommend for Scrabble lovers. Also a wonderful board to take to visit friends and family who are in hospital. I write this because my father and I spent hours while he was in hospital playing on this board. It was easy as the tiles do not fall off when you turn the board.

Liked the size, look, and rotating ability of the board. Also liked the ability to easily store and access all the bits and pieces. The board was well packed when it arrived; no damage or missing pieces. We like to play scrabble for fun and wanted a board that was easy to read. This definitely fit the bill. After reading customer reviews for various boards, we decided to spend a little more to get a quality product that could last over time. Would definitely recommend to others. .
