Thermor Bios Barometer (Walnut, 6.75-Inch x 25.5-Inch x 2.25-Inch)

First, I consider it not sensitive enough - to reach further than the median scale.Second , when trying to adjust it has very erratic moves.Third, the book said to calibrate or adjust to the right, local pressure after the radio/tv values but does not have the dial for those values. Let me explain: Radio - TV numbers are in KPa/inchHg units (kilo Pascal per inch of mercury) considered from the sea level - 0 feet altitude. The instrument's dial scales are in kPa/mmHg (kilo Pascal per millimeters Hg) and in mmHg. It took some digging and spreadsheet work to find the correct unit's transformation. Adjusting at the right division, was another story. The adjusting is very erratic (sensitive?) take some minutes and skill to make the dial stay where suppose to stay. Maybe the unit was damaged in the shipping? I do not know. The third, when I was successful with the other two, when we had the storm last week, (the TV local weather reported 29.9 inch Hg at sea level and going down, for example, equivalent with 759.5 inchHg) my instrument showed at 765 mmHg.The humidity is in the process of testing. The instrument dial does not go under 30% humidity, and I know I have less than that in the house.As a decorative piece is excellent, but for $40+ could be better.

Great product. At only a fraction of the cost of all of the others in this category i would defiantly recommended this one over a one hundred and something dollar model that does the same thing. Wood is beautifully polished and the hydrometer and barometer gauges are very large and easy to read. This is the only model I saw that had pressure units of KPa which I really like but most probably would not care about. I also love the blue mercury in the thermometer instead of read. My only complaint is that the Fahrenheit units are listed in increments of 20, I would rather 10, Celsius in increments of 10 which is just a little less of a gap than Fahrenheit. The temp notch reading indicators are in increments of two deg for both.

Looks alright, though I prefer stainless steel instead of gold gauges and brown vs red finish.Thermometer is very accurate but I have never seen inaccurate thermometer. Easy to read.Barometer is VERY accurate! Calibrated once and always matches my local weather station! No need to tap the glass like the other ones I had. The only problem is that it does not display in inches. If sold in US, should display in inches. I am not used to the other readings and keep converting. Still accurate though!Hygrometer is the reason I bought this. Have humidity problem. Believe me, i have bought 5 hygrometers in last month, and I got disapointed with most of them. This is the second best hygrometer I tried. Calibrated once and it is reasonably accurate and reasonably responsive. It takes like 20 mins to get the right reading though, and it is not 100 % precise because of the relative humidity type of measurement. Read what that means. You can't walk into a room and measure the humidity right away. You have to leave it there for half an hour. But still it does move all the way from 50% to 85% when my heat starts running and blows wet air from the vents under the house. Most of the other hygrometers took much longer and never had such wide range.However I found a hygrometer that is really a benchmark from them all. It is the dial hygrometer from sper scientific. That thing reacts IMMEDIATELY to changes in humidity. You can literally walk into a room and get the reading in 30 seconds. Also the dial will read from 35% all the way to 100% inside a hot wet towel. This one does NOT use the relative humidity method!! It is accurate throughout the entire scale! If u want fast and accurate reading that one is unbeatable.

Got one from the seller. Dial on the humidity reading was loose & tilted whichever way you pointed the item itself. So asked for a replacement. Got a new one. This time the thing was scratched & the cover for the barometer was rattling loose in the package (probably where the scratches came from). Only then I saw the bad reviews here. So instead of trying again with yet another replacement I sent the first (& prettier) one to a clock repair place. While sending the 2nd one back to the manufacturer in place of the original exchange. After getting it repaired ($70!) the humidity & temperature reading works fine. I'm pretty sure the barometer part is still broken...But it's pretty & the thermometer works. & that's why I bought it - to go on the wall of my apartment & tell me what the temperature inside was.Also the exchange worked really fast & quick. So... 2 stars.If you're after something pretty that says what temperature it is, this is fine. But if you want more than that, forget it. Save your time & money.

Youngest son is now getting into weather thought it would be a nice inexpensive starting piece for a barometer. Saying that I guess I should realize you get what you pay for tried to adjust the large handle by turning screw and all it does is flop around so am returning for refund If you want a nice decorative conversation piece that might work but didn't for me it's a great buy

I purchased this item because of the way it looks. I'm not a weather buff and could care less if the information it provides is correct ornot. That's way they have the weather channel. It appears to be working correctly but that's just a guess. It serves my needs very well.Looks very official.

This Barometer is very pretty. It looks terrific on my wall. But it doesn't work. Actually, the temperature guage works. But the humidity guage and the barometric pressure reader do not work. Both my husband and I tried to get the barometer to work. We are disappointed. But, it is pretty!

In general, I am very pleased with the product.. It looks more expensive than it is. All functions work but the barometer is the weakest area - it needs some calibrating and yet I am not really sure it show correct atmospheric pressure. I would still recommend this.
