Order DIRECT from AllergyBeGone.com, to avoid getting size SMALL!!!
This is the best mask I have come across so far. I have had mine for about a year and the gasket suddenly broke out of nowhere, so I ordered a new one from Amazon real quick so I could go in public. When it arrived it was a size Small. Gggrrrrr! I wear a medium! I knew that!?! WHY didn't I notice no size choice when I ordered it! Arrggghhh! I freaked out for about 20 minutes, then remembered I had Allergy Be Gone's phone # in my cellphone, because I've been ordering direct from them from years, so I called them up to give them a piece of my mind. She sincerely apologized and got me a new mask sent out on Next Day delivery! AWESOME!!! Since I had to wait two weeks for the first one! I also thought to ask her, do you sell replacement valves by themselves. Why yes we do! Of course you do :-PIf I had just called them with my order instead of being lazy and throwing it in my Amazon cart, I would've gotten the right product and a replacement product for my old mask.I agree with the other reviewer that it is not the BEST design, it is VERY hard for me to keep in place. Luckily I am not doing physical activity with it on. I wear it whenever I go out in public because I am allergic to every single bodycare product; like perfume, aftershave, lotion, deodorant, hair care products, detergents, chemicals in rugs and building materials, cleaning chemicals, cigarettes, smog, plants, pretty much LIFE :(. But this mask makes it possible for me to do things I need to do like go to the Dr and the grocery store. Clothing stores, there is no mask strong enough for all THOSE chemicals. FYI, for all who dont know: ALL new clothes are PACKED with TONS of Formaldehyde, WASH them first!!!I order the chemical filters to go with it, it comes with only a particle filter which will not protect someone with Chemical Sensitivities like myself. It also does help protect against sickness. It is NOT designed for that and is not approved as a mask to use to avoid Avain/Swine Flue, BUT I have not gotten sick once in the entire last year and I use to get deathly ill with some resperatory bug at least every three months. My health has greatly improved since using this mask. I plan to search for a more comfortable one, because i do NOT like how it pulls on my neck and my nose. I would add an extra strap like the other reviewer, but as a woman, I like that the straps do not go over my head, so I can wear my hair down if I want. The nose does pinch and after wearing this for a long trip out, my nose is VERY red and sore, but the other choices are no better.Other masks loop around the ears which causes me SERIOUS pain, dislocates my adeniod, sublexating my neck, and causing me serious long lasting headaches. The other reviewer mentioned the TECHNO mask. I tried that one too, I had ordered the Large which was WAY too big,and also very cumbersome. Plus everyone said I looked like Darth Vader! So I returned it and tried a different kind, a thin netted one that looped around the ears, too flimsy, not enough filtration. I figured I'd try the Respro, and if I didnt like it I'd order another Techno. I didn't care for the fit of the Respro and decided i wanted the smaller Techno, but by then I developed a sensitivity to the smell of Neoprene, which the Techno is made of. If you are not sensitive to Neoprene, order the Techno, it fits much snugger and stays on without having to be adjusted every 30 seconds like this one.AllergyBeGone is an amazing company and it is not their fault that this listing doesn't have the proper sizing options. Their Rep, Samantha explained to me that Amazon creates these listings for them from their own site catalog. Their site has way more products to choose from and they have amazing customer service. Great idea but needs significant further design work
I have a deep appreciation for the basic concept behind these masks. I think the filter component itself does a good job of eliminating particles that I don't wish to reach my nose and throat. Unfortunately the design of the mask is not adequate to keep the filter in an effective and appropriate place unless I continuously hold it with one hand or modify it with another velcro strap that loops around behind and/or over the top of my head . The included neck strap slides down too far to guarantee an adequate seal over the nose and face. Thus, it is the nose clip that really determines that the filter is maintained in correct position. It is only partially effective if one clamps it snuggly, and then doing so means it compresses the nasal passages immediately or rapidly slides into such a possession of often that struggling with the mask prevents using one's hands for other tasks effectively. (I have now added further velcro straps to these masks -- discussed under comments.)When you are trying to prevent allergies from clogging up your nose -- having a clip block them instead is not much satisfaction. Worse yet is that deciding to accommodate by breathing through your mouth and sacrificing the nose turns out to be the necessary alternative, but is a deceptive and potentially dangerous one. When mouth breathing you get a false reassurance because you can't smell particles/fumes/smoke as easily. Then you may be blissfully unaware if you are still inhaling them directly into your lungs as the mask has slipped out of place. These same particles can still trigger an asthma attack. It is doubtful to me that this mask would pass basic OSHA fit tests which require confirming the person cannot smell or taste substances such as saccharin.I would suggest the manufacturers look at other masks which use a second strap that goes around the top if the head, not just the back. After having tried several masks this summer to block forest fire smoke, the only ones which worked sufficiently to allow me to breathe, have my hands free and support physical exertion such as working around the house, garden or hiking were ones with a strap that went to the top of the head as well. The best seals which did not block nose breathing were actually obtained with the occupational resuable painters masks with N95 or 100 cartridges, though obviously these weren't too much fun hiking uphill, breathing fast and perspiring once the weather got warmer.Perhaps some pollen and dust suffers who only need a small reduction in irritants may have a different experience, but when you are trying to block forest fire smoke (moderate particulate matter or higher) that is ever present for hours from triggering your asthma, you get quick feedback when the mask is out of place...this one was most of the time.I have tried the techno mask by the same company. The neoprene version is a little better and was intended for high demand athletic activities. But basically is limited by the same problem. Neither would be safe for a person sigificantly dependent on assistance from the mask.It is advertised by Respro that the filters meet UK requirements that are similar to OSHA. I doubt this is true if the mask has been worn "naturally" for a few minutes without hand-holding it in place. Any leak around the side defeats the entire system.I think a second velco strap that goes over the top of the head would be comfortable enough, would be unlikely to interfere with athletic activity and might transform this item toward a functional success. None of the serious occupational masks or gas masks have such a vulnerable face seal as Respro does for their entire product line. Curiously they make one for fire fighters which I have ordered from different suppliers, but it never seems to arrive. I don't know if the concurrent use of a fire fighting helmet makes them fit better or not, but that's not my idea of gardening, cycling or hiking attire. In the meantime customers might have to consider stitching on their own retention strap.

Fit for women or head of hair is off
Does not fit women's head unless you go bald, the straps slide on your hair in the back, fortunately I have the shortest haircut almost bald, but when I want to wear a wig of any texture it just slides, they should improve the strap design as far as keeping out smells , scents for allergies it's ok, as far as protection, it's ok, Not an N95 but the material is think enough, I'm sure it blocks some particles floating in the air

Comfortable all day fit
Comfortable all day fit.Unit is comfortable and fits securely. You can wear for extended light use periods. I work in an area with significant smog. some due to tires being burnt. I currently wear this unit all day. It has made a significant difference for me. I love that the internal filters can be replaced, and the valves open and can be cleaned.I ran into a small road bump with a clip. The company was quick to support me and stand by there gear. Its worth the price to get a unit from a real company with long term support.
