Graco Simple Sway Portable Baby Swing, Abbington

This swing has been a god send. It literally has given me much needed rest and freedom to get a few things done around the house. My son is 3 months old and I spent the majority of my time standing rocking him to sleep as he didn’t care for my limited movement if I was sitting or in a rocking chair. This swing puts him to sleep almost immediately. We use it about 3-4 times a day for about 15-30 mnts each time, once he’s in a deep sleep I put him in the bassinet & he rests for about 2-3 hours until his next feeding. The swing is pretty quiet, it did kind of slightly lift on one end as other reviews noted, but if I keep it at speed 3 it doesn’t cuz his weigh keeps it steady, also if the blanket is too thick/heavy it goes slower a bit so I put a lighter blanket w him on it and no issues at all. I wish the seat was able to change how it faces but besides that, perfect product!!! Well worth the extra $50-75 that it costs over the other ones on the market. AND it holds a higher baby weight capacity compared to the cheaper ones so definitely worth the slight price increase. If I didn’t have to leave my job to care for the baby, I’d get a second one for upstairs…that’s how much of a great difference it has made in the household. My arms and back aren’t killing me as much now and the baby is happy as a clam. I regret shopping around and considering the purchase for about two weeks….it was two weeks I lost out on this thing that I won’t get back. Stop thinking about it and just click buy. When I put it together the next day and he instantly fell asleep I was kicking myself in the butt for taking so long to order the darn thing. Hands down, besides a breast pump and bottle to give my nips a break cuz it’s been torture, this swing has been the best baby purchase I’ve made. Everything else new-baby related you can go without or substitute it with something you already have at home, but this…you NEED.

The swing is super practical and compact. The rocking motion is gentle yet steady—perfect for soothing the baby and keeping them safe while I go about my day. The melodies and vibrations work wonderfully. Highly recommended!

I’m really happy with this purchase. It has become another great soothing option for my newborn. At first, I was worried about taking the chance on whether she would even like it, but she took to it right away. It also gives me a few minutes to myself since she’s at the stage where she wants to be held almost constantly. After putting it through her own very serious “quality inspection,” my daughter has officially given it her seal of approval. For any parent debating whether it’s worth the investment, it was absolutely worth it for us.

We had to purchase this swing for our nearly 5 mo old who only sleeps through the night in his swing (we found mold on the bottom of the previous swing seat cover and even though most washed out, I didn't want to chance it, and trying to find a replacement cover for that swing was a pain and they're expensive). I was leary getting a new swing given our little guy's age and weight-he's a chunk. We aren't super picky, so I don't have a lot of cons with this one. I feel the music or sounds could be louder-sometimes I can hardly tell it's on. The mobile doesn't turn or spin if someone is wondering-that doesn't matter to us though. After reading some reviews I worried our son wouldn't swing very fast because he's nearly 20 lbs, but even at speed 4(out of 6), it went plenty fast and we actually used it at 3 while he sleeps. As far as the noise, I don't have an issue with that, but I read others have. We use a white noise machine sometimes, so I don't hear it, but the little clicking sound it does make, doesn't phase me. My biggest issue is the height of the swing overall. Our fisher price cradle n swing one is a lot bulkier and the top piece is higher up, so it made this one feel so much smaller. The seat does sit maybe an inch or 2 lower from the ground than our other swing. I'm only about 5'3" and I feel like I really have to bend down to get him in and out, and even more so for my husband. The seat is totally different than our cradle n swing, which is bucket-like. I like how that swing has an actual seat to hold our baby in. This is just the metal outlined shape seat with a cover that snaps over it. The seat seems taller and wider in some ways than our old swing, so it's good for our baby at his size/age, but I could see how a little one might need some additional support to hold them in because of the shape. We haven't even tried the vibration part of it since we have a separate bouncy seat, so I can't speak on that function. Overall this takes up a little less space than our cradle n swing, and definitely seems more compact. This was a great price and it does what we need it to do, so I'm happy with it. I rate it overall a 4/5. My biggest complaint would be the height of the swing for getting your baby in/out. I've attached photos to show side by side of the 2 swings. The pictures don't show much difference in overall width and seat height, but in person, the cradle n swing seat is higher from the ground and is the entire thing taller/wider.

Got this swing to replace an outdated model my daughter got as a present. Nothing really wrong with the older model just didn't swing if she was placed in it with a blanket. Thinking the gears were old. This thing is awesome. Our daughter is almost 2 months old and about 10 lbs she looks very small in this swing as it is roomy she looks very comfortable in it and loves to take naps in it. If you put a newborn in it I suggest a neck/head support as what it comes with is more for an older child. Its pretty easy to assemble, we had a tiny bit of trouble out of the chair part you have to put the support rods in before snapping them together and its still a tight fit. Other than that is literally click click done. On the high settings it does swing pretty fast, but the harness setup is very secure. I would recommend this swing to anyone with a child that gets cranky easy or has trouble being soothed. My daughter is a bit spoiled, likes to be held, I usually do not have problem putting her in swing so long as she does want bottle or changing. Its nice that it plays music and nature sounds so its got some variety. What made us select this swing was the fact that 1) it has AC adapter (no more batteries) and 2) it vibrates.(uses 1 D size battery for the vibrate, does not use the adapters power) There are others that vibrate but not many and for the price its got great quality. There are cheaper ones but they did not vibrate. And this swing cost 20-30 more than the little small swings that go toe to head instead of side to side. All in all its great swing for the price, and purchasing through amazon if you get the open box deal and its defective they will take it back with no hassle. Recommending this to a few new moms I know.

Overall this is a pretty awesome swing. Cute design, sturdy construction and the 5 point harness makes baby super secure. The head insert works for our 2 month old. We started using it when he was 1.5 months but he was already 13ish lbs so for a smaller baby you may need to add a better head support or rolled up towel. It does make a tiny bit of noise while it swings - not as in a defect but just from the mechanism itself. Like a click each time it reaches one side or the other. Nothing overly annoying. A few weeks in it did develop a squeak which i wasn't happy about but it seems to have resolved itself sinc. It only swings side to side not forward and backward. LOVEEE that it gives you a cord to plug in and doesn't run on batteries. Very few swings have this convenience anymore. It plays classical songs or nature sounds and lets you change the volume or mute it. It goes pretty loud. It has 6 different strengths of swinging and 2 strengths of vibration. The vibration requires batteries in an extra compartment. The swing when assembled is too wide to fit through a door frame you have to finagle it and turn it to the side. So not very mobile if you're looking to move it from room to room a lot. I wish the mobile turned on it's own but that's okay. You really can't beat this for the price. It's an awesome little swing and so far has been a saving grace and worth every penny. Highly recommend!

Me gusta mucho. Al principio a mi bebé no le encantaba, y duraba muy poco tiempo ahí solo con supervisión. Poco a poco se ha acostumbrado incluso a usar las correas para amarrarlo y quedarse a unos metros de mi mentras cocino. Le compramos un adaptador para recién nacido porque era algo incómodo, su cabecita se ladeaba mucho. El vibrador es una maravilla, al principio no le dimos importancia yo pusimos las pilas, pero ¡es lo mejor! Le sirve mucho a mi bebé para los gases y colicos, lo relaja mucho. Me gusta que sirve sin enchufarlo solo con pilas, lleva bastantitas pilas, pero vale la pena y duran bastante.
