Fantastic boots, hold up great.
I just received my 2nd pair of these boots to replace my 1st pair. I bought my first pair 3 years ago and the only wear is the stitching on the right side of the heel has a 3 inch spot gone. The bottom has worn down about 1/4 inch or so, but after 3 years this is not a surprise. They are very comfortable, great for daily wear. I have looked at other soldiers boots (currently on active duty overseas) and many are lighter and breathe better, but none have held up as well, and personally, I like a bit of weight behind my boot. Some of the guys have to replace boots yearly, and we're National Guard so the things only get worn about 40 days out of the year. My 1st pair has plenty of life left in them, half the reason I wanted a new pair was simple aesthetics, I will likely start wearing the old ones hunting... and the 1st pair has gotten stinky but that's not the boots' fault. They are pretty slick when you first wear them, so watch out for that.

Love the product, disappointed in receiving the wrong color.
I received coyote tan when I requested for desert tan and this is a huge deal seeing as how I am in the Army and we wear desert tan only. Unfortunately I am unable to return the boots since I'm in Afghanistan and don't have time. Hopefully I can play them off and use them for the rest of my tour but I am just disappointed for receiving the wrong color.

One of the worst so far
I've been in the military for 14 years now and I have to say, these are up there with one of the worst. I am very skeptical and picky when buying new boots, so I do research. I feel there are a lot of misleading reviews on these boots. Yes, they are very comfy and the soles are like tennis shoes....however:1. There are no breathing holes. My feet sweat even during the winter because there is no air circulation, and then my feet are freezing.2. The soles starte debonding within 2 months of being in Afghanistan. Your usual rocks, pavement and dirt, nothing out of the norm. And now more and more parts of the sole are slowly coming detached.3. Yes, the soles do wear quickly. I will willing to accept it if that was the only problem, but $140 and all this, I think never again.4. The worst part of all. I have wide feet. I bought the wides. Well, the boots wall next to "the ball of the foot" has collapsed on both boots. When I say collapsed, I mean no longer keeping its form, but hangs down. So add that, and the low profile sole and what do you get? Wet! Every time it rains, snows etc and I walk in it, my feet get soaked. And then stay soaked because they can't break to air out. Worst combination ever.Never again. This is my story, 6 month old boots. best of luck if you buy them.

Comfort at the expense of durability
Really comfortable, but didn't last three months of deployment in Afghanistan. Specifically, the laces broke after 1.5 months (not a deal breaker, laces are replaceable), and the back stitching gave out by the end of the 2nd month. By the time I contacted the manufacturer, I found out they only had a 90 day warranty/guarantee which I was just past. The company wouldn't work with me. It wouldn't have been so bad if my RFI/issued boots hadn't given out as well. Probably a great for garrison, but if you take on deployment, plan on a couple backup boots as these cant handle the constant onslaught of dust and dry and heat, even for a fobbit. I can't imagine how much quicker they would have failed had I been on missions outside the wire.

... boots about 2 years ago and they are still like the day I bought them
Purchased these boots about 2 years ago and they are still like the day I bought them. Well built, you can easily run in them and one of the most comfortable pairs or boots I have ever worn! I have a wide foot so I bought them in a 10.5 wide and the fit was perfect. There doesn't seem to be a need to buy bigger or smaller when trying to figure out sizing. I normally wear a 10.5 and these were perfect. This is the only pair or boots I can honestly wear all day and forget that I'm wearing a combat like boot. They are that comfortable for me. If you need heavy top of the foot protection, these are not your answer, considering these are a lighter weight desert boot meant for hotter weather. The vibram sole is fantastic and offers the traction it promises. All in all I took a chance on these but was unfamiliar with the Blackhawk name when it came to boots and I was very pleasantly surprised. I would not hesitate to buy these or other pairs from Blackhawk again!

Feel great out of the box, but not too durable.
I bought my first pair of these boots at Airborne School, needing more appropriate boots for running in, as one does during the course. I found them to be extremely light (comparable in weight to Oakleys) and comfortable out of the box. You know how you used to have to break in your Bellvues or Altamas before even thinking about rucking with them? Not really a worry with these guys, as long as the fit is proper, you can complete a decent-length ruck march with little to no break-in. Also, they are somewhat water-resistant. Aside from those aspects, one more plus is that if you get the model with the rubberized toes and heels, its one less thing things to worry about scuffing up in garrison..HOWEVER. Don't expect these boots to last more than a year under rough condition. They are made and China, after all, which in itself is a discredit to the item. If water DOES get inside them, they do not drain worth a DAMN. There are no drain holes, and I ended up drilling my own where the leather meets the rubber sole. I'm sure this hastened the deteriation of the boot, but it was better than getting trench foot. The laces wore out to the point of breaking (they are cheap 550 cord laces), but were easily replaced with free, Army-provided para cord.Bottom line, these boots will probably hold up better in the desert, than say...the draws and streams of Camp McCall, NC. Even then, don't expect them to last over 8 months. But, they are damn comfortable, to their credit.
