Ballistic Shell Gel for LG G2 all carriers EXCEPT VERIZON - Retail Packaging - Black

This phone case became a necessity when I got my LG G2. Seriously, for those that just got any LG Gx product, the edge-to-edge screens mean that no matter WHERE or HOW you drop it from what length, you run the risk of seriously damaging the screen. There is NO buffer zone--nothing between where it drops at and the glass itself. That's the downside of edge-to-edge screens. And the digitizer assembly must be replaced with the screen (which means 'more expensive' since it's a specific assembly of parts instead of a single piece of glass)--and no matter how professional of a place you take it to to get fixed, there's always an issue with the adhesive staying the second time around. Do NOT do like I did and put off getting a case to protect your phone--even a crappy case is better than none. I promise. Also, particularly for smaller people like myself, my hands don't quite fit around the phone as easily as an iphone or galaxy s2.. the grip I have on it is more expanded because the phone is bigger. This means I dropped it more times (read 2 times vs ZERO times with my galaxy) because I cannot physically get as stable a grip on it. On top of that, it's a smooth surface all the way around. It's a recipe for dropping your phone.With that said, There are not many cases out there for the LG G2 series that I like. All of them are either rubbery, bulky, etc. etc. I wasn't excited about the buttons being covered on the phone with this case, but it turns out the buttons are SUPER easy to push and feel like the actual buttons so that wasn't a problem at all. Very pleasant surprise. It feels well secured, and one of my major complaints is that it has exposed rubber on all four corners vs a smoother, hard surface: it makes it annoying to put into and pull out of girl-jean pockets. I tend to carry my phone in my hand a lot more now, or I slide it into my backpack or something when I'm not using it. I wish they would at least pick one vertical side to make a smoother plastic surface on the edges so that it would slip into pockets with ease. I think I might actually paint some epoxy onto the edges to create that slip myself.With that said, I feel confident carrying my phone around. I watched youtube drop-test videos to make my determination on a case based on price and actual protection, since none of the cases fit all of my specific requirements. This one won out--drop tests showed good things online for cheaper prices than other cases, and the multiple pieces seem like a steady and well-engineered construction. It isn't any bulkier to hold in the hand, and the price was right for the amount of perceived protection I have. I have not dropped my phone yet on accident, and I will not on purpose (I've dropped my phone and replaced the screen assembly twice in this same year :( ) so when I do drop it (and I suspect I will) I'll let everyone know if this case rocks or not.Update 8/03/14 - I've dropped my phone about 5 different times now. Once down a flight of concrete stairs, once it flew out of my hand when I was swinging my arms and it hit my leg, twice on the concrete, once in grass. My phone's screen would have DEFINITELY shattered to pieces on any of these drops, and has survived every single time. I am so SO glad I have this protector, I don't even care about the fact it didn't slide easily into my pockets anymore. I fixed that with some epoxy paint on the exposed rubber edges and a little bit of time to dry. I will never purchase a phone without a case again, I learned my lesson, and this phone case is proof. It has saved me over $800 worth of repairs and/or new phone purchases in the span of a couple months. Worth it's weight in gold (luckily that isn't much) and it's a great case. Does exactly what it needs to do. Bonus: the rubbery edges actually protected it a little from the rain falling on it when it started raining while I was walking home. I still had to take it apart to get it all dried up, but the case actually helped keep it from being soaked in that sudden downpour. I had this rated at 3 stars originally because I was unsure of the drop quality, which is the most important. Now I am sure--and this phone case rocks. 5 stars.

The case seems sturdy and fits well. My phone hasnt taken a significant fumble since I put it on but theres plenty of silicone bumper to absorb impacts. The corners are very well protected and the phone still remains pretty slim with it on. With such a small bezel on this phone the case literally touches the edge of the screen, occasionally making tasks involving the edges slightly difficult. Not enough to prevent me from performing any functions on my phone.So overall impression, I love it. The insurance plans for smart phones just dont make fiscal sense to me anymore. This case gives me peace of mind. Especially seeing as how a lot of the reviews I read about the phone said its highly prone to damage from even minor falls. I get all the protection I need from this case while still keeping it slim enough to carry in my pocket.**UPDATE**Ive now fumbled my phone a few times and even accidentally sent it cartwheeling 10 feet across the concrete when I tried to catch it as it was falling. I also had it in the bed of my truck when a sprinkler burst and sprayed a stream of water directly onto the face of it. All while in this case. Phone still works perfectly. Great case.

I purchased this for my SECOND G2, after the first had a catastrophic fall from 3 feet above floor level. I used to use the quick window case, which seemed cool and all, but offered little/no protection from falls. This case feels great on my phone. It consists of two layers, one is a rubbery layer, which is what covers the back, corners, and provides a good sized lip in front of the phone. The second layer is a harder plastic/rubber that somewhat "clamps" the sides of the first layer, securing it in place and adding some more impact resistance. I've had my phone fall from my lap several times when exiting my car, and this case protected it from every single fall. The biggest plus side of this case, is that it hasn’t gotten all stretched out and flimsy like my old S3's otterbox did. It feels as tight and sleek as the day I bought it. PS, for those wondering, it DOES NOT have any kind of screen protection film or anything, but it would definitely still fit if you were to put one on your phone. Buy this; it makes you feel much more confident holding your phone.

I purchased this case because I wanted to protect my new LG G2, which appears to be a bit on the fragile side. Well, with this case on it, I'm pretty sure my phone would survive a fall off the roof of a 5 story building. It is designed and constructed very well and the phone fits perfectly. If you want to protect your phone from drops, this is the case you want. It is however, rather large. With this case on, my phone no longer fits in my pocket or my cars windshield mount. So, while overall I do like it, I've had to stop using it and purchased a TPU case instead.

Have used Otterbox cases in the past. I tend to be hard on my phones and need a more capable case that helps protects the investment I have in the phone. this Ballistic case fits the bill. It is solid, provides a good level of protection for the G2 and also doesn't crimp my screen protector (a problem I had with other cases I tried on the G2. While it is not for those that want a really sleek, hidden type cover (others are better for that) if you want durable, reliable, this is great choice. Covers the back power/up/down unit as well giving what I think is a much better tactile feel for this setup. Used a number of cases over the years, this is my first Ballistic and I highly recommend it. And its priced right! Take the extra 10 bucks a month you would pay to a carrier to have insurance on the phone, and spend two of those payments on this case. Saves you lots of money!!!

fit and finish is the best ive seen for the G2. its tough but not HUGE. it doesnt make the cell seem much bigger, it actually fits like a slim fit case, with the amazing protection. i dropped it a few times since, and its like it never happened. the back button covers also make it friendlier to use than the original uncovered buttons.

This is the Best protection for you mobile, before purchasing this my screen got shattered from a short distance of 2ft, after repairing I immediately purchased it and suddenly after couple of weeks, the mobile fell again from about 4ft and it didn't broke.PS : I LOVE IT.

Buscaba una buena protección para mi smartphone tanto en el día a día como para salidas al aire libre, esta funda cumple mis expectativas a un precio razonable dada su calidad, viniendo de una marca prestigiosa como Ballistic.La funda en si consta de dos partes, una de gel y otra de policarbonato, que se acopla una sobre la otra contando esta ultima, con un tacto agradable, que en cierto modo mejora el agarre respecto a la resbaladiza parte trasera original del teléfono.Debo decir que aunque aumenta algo el volumen del dispositivo, estéticamente se ve bastante bien (por supuesto esto es subjetivo) y protege muy bien el teléfono que es de lo que se trata, especialmente la pantalla, gracias a los bordes de gel que sobresalen por encima.La accesibilidad a los puertos es correcta, no tapando tampoco los altavoces ni ningún sensor, realizándose el accionamiento a los botones traseros sin ningún tipo de problema, significado que esta es una de las características que mas valoro de esta funda, junto con la protección que hace del objetivo de la cámara, pudiendo dejar el teléfono en la mesa sin temor a rallarlo.También debo decir que si usas protector de pantalla has de tener cuidado porque al colocar la funda puedes levantarlo por un lateral .En definitiva la recomiendo para todos aquellos que por su actividad, circunstancias o gustos valoren una buena protección y no les importe que aumente algo el volumen del conjunto.

I'm rough on my phones. This case inspires confidence that I will not destroy the LG G2 I purchased for full price. The rubber corners on this are excellent for bump and drop protection. The raised lip that protects the screen when face down is a smart detail. The hard shell on the back sits over a silicon liner for shock resistance. It looks impressively tech and capable of rough duty.
