The best training cup I've found so far
At 6 months, my son was not ready to use these cups, so I put them away. But by the 8th month, he was drinking from these like a champ! The design is not perfect, but it's the best I've found so far. The most important aspect is that he can hold this himself and drink, and when turned upside down, the cup does not spill. Even if he's not able to drink, he's happy enough to hold the cup and suck on it. The cup has to be relatively full in order to make drinking easy. The less filled up it is, the further back your child will have to tip the cup. For younger children, like my 10 month old, he hasn't learned this yet, so I have to recline him on my lap to drink.I don't like to fill it more than about an inch because my son doesn't drink all that much in one sitting and I don't want to waste the food or precious breast milk. Filling it up more makes it too heavy for him to hold comfortably.Aside from breast milk, we've given him water and chicken soup. He loves chicken soup and gets hangry when we don't feed him fast enough. With a spoon, it's tricky and most of the soup ends up on his shirt. With the cup, he can drink on his own and is quite content. Some dribbling does occur down his cheek as the rate of flow is faster than breast feeding but that's not too much of an issue with cleanup.Lastly, there are no instructions with the product, so I thought to include cleaning instructions here. The cup is 3 pieces. It's not that obvious. You might think the lid is one secured piece. It's not. The lip/rim (colored part) is a flexible silicone cover that snaps onto the lid/handle piece. To clean the cup, just dig your fingers into the lid to get under it and pull the top until it comes off. Don't worry about breaking it (it won't). Then you can use a toothbrush to brush out the underside. For $10 at the time of writing for 2 cups, I think this is a fantastic deal. The handles also are great for hooking onto a belt or other loop, when you need both hands free.

Best sippy cup ever!!!
These sippy cups are pure perfection! Every other sippy cup we've ever tried has proven very difficult for both my kids to get the liquid out. In fact, we gave up on sippy cups altogether with my son after trying 5 different ones without success. I wish we had seen these! My 15 month old has never had a problem drinking from these cups. She can drink from any place on the rim vs just 1 small area of the sippy cup. While this cup doesn't leak when tipped, she still has a relatively easy time getting the liquid out. I tried this cup myself and found it to be exactly like an adult cup, but with a stopper that doesn't allow one to drink too quickly nor spill on oneself (perhaps these might also work well for a cocktail party).Caution - these will leak a bit if baby throws it down when she's quenched her thirst and you don't move fast enough to get it from her after she's said, "all done." Keep half of a paper towel on hand as that's all you'll need to clean up the 1/2 oz spill. In my opinion, that's not worth docking this product a star since it's so much better than every other sippy cup we've ever wasted money on trying.

Excellent sippy cup, especially for water!
We received one of these as a hand-me-down and liked it so much that we ordered more. This was the first sippy cup my daughter used and she took to it right away. It's easy for her to hold and drink water out of. Milk is a little trickier (especially whole milk), as it doesn't always get through the holes and can leak out. I also have to wash the milk cups daily or they start accumulate milk in the hole in the center of the rubber lid and will start smelling like sour milk. Even water cups get rinsed daily and washed every couple days. You do need to take the cup apart completely to wash it, which seems like a no-brainer to me. I see some people are complaining about mold, but the only reason they would accumulate mold like that is if you aren't washing them properly. There are only 4 pieces to take apart and wash and that includes the rubber ring that seals the cup and handles, which only needs to be taken off and washed every week or so. The pieces wash easily and I love that there's no rubber tube/straw mechanism. This is a great product and a great price for a 2 pack!

... trainer Cup in the hope that these would work better than traditional sippy cups with the rubery spouts because ...
I bough the Philips Free Natural Drinking cup and the Muchkin Miracle 360 trainer Cup in the hope that these would work better than traditional sippy cups with the rubery spouts because my boy (20 months) has learned that he can chew on the spouts and get them to flow freely thus removing any spill prevention benefits. The Muchkin is by far a better product. The mechanism that the Philips uses is complex and feels funny to use. You have to push rubber disc, thats kind of like a lid, down into the cup with your upper lip to get the liquid to flow. This makes it kind of uncomfortable to try and drink from but really easy for child to flip it over and push the lid in with their thumbs to get he liquid to flow out on whatever they are holding it over; as we quickly learned when with in seconds of giving the cup to our son he was pouring it out all over him and the carpet. The Muchkin on the other works great; far better than the Philips or traditional sippy cups. Its lid has two parts, a plastic lower cone/funnel shape peace that has little holes and channels for liquid to pass through and a rubbery cap that snaps tight against the plastic base that seals the holes and channels to prevent unwanted leaking. To drink from the cup you hold it and drink like you would form any normal cup but with just adding a little suction similar to a straw or like how you would sip a hot drink like coffee or coco. The liquid is pulled through the holes and channels under the rubbery cap and into your mouth and only your mouth. For spill prevention it is awesome, we have used it and tossed it around everywhere even letting it roll around in the back seat of our car and no spills to date. Plus my boy so has not been able to figure out how to make even a little liquid spill out. The Muchkin 360 cups are the only non spill cups we use now.
