STEM Through The Months - Winter Edition: for Budding Engineers, Mathematicians, Makers and Poets

This book is pricey, but cool. It has activities with STEM connections for each day. Some are simple and some are not. I think the book is good and can be a great 45 to 1 hour addition to curriculum, if you are allowed to do it.

My niece has two chidden. I gave two books to her and they are having the best "family" time with STEM. I read it myself and loved it. So well done, so easy to follow. I promised to buy them all the future editions. Great job.

This is the most comprehensive edition of Stem through the Months so far. As a Middle School teacher I am excited about teaching these lessons to my students.Elaine Gervasi

A wealth of information for students yet easy to understand.

STEM Through the Months contains a wealth of cross-curriculum classroom activities that support both the Common Core and the Next Generation Science Standards. Using poetry as a spring board for science and engineering lessons, is a creative way to engage students and to add rigor to the curriculum. Students not only learn about great poets and their poetry, but they are also challenged to create hands-on projects such as "assembly line thank you notes" or face masks. These "Maker Movement" type projects teach students how to work collaboratively to solve problems. I highly recommend this wonderful resource for any K-8th classroom or library program.

Teacher tested and kid-approved lessons! Beverly tried out the book's lessons in my 3rd grade classroom and students loved them! This book is an awesome resource for teaching science & poetry. The author knows the heart of a child: its curiosity, ingenuity and intelligence. Her thoughtful lessons offer a space for a child's heart to flourish! Thinkers are activated and minds will whir as students cheerfully set out to the task at hand when you use this book.

I'd highly recommend this book for teachers to use with their students and for parents to use with their children. So many educational and exciting STEM activities creatively organized by month and each day of the month. The creators are clearly very experienced educators who know how to design activities that work well in the classroom, engage learners and promote thinking. The activities include great instructions and prompts next to them to further guide and stir learning.
