Watch It come alive
These are great, my little boy loved it.You add water and the egg begins to disintegrate , once the egg has gone your left with a little alien with a flashing heart, you have to feed it for the next few day, you will see him grow, but remember he does need to be cared for, he needs light and dark to keep him alive. We have had ours now for a couple of months and his flashing heart still beats. The great thing with them is you can log on to the aliens website, tap in the aliens ID number and find out all about it including how well you have cared for it.Great fun and educational (ish).

Entertaining while its growing, but boring afterwards
Got an alien for my 9 year olds birthday. It was great watching it grow, the instructions for feeding it were clear and within 2 weeks it had fully grown. After feeding, you can top up the level with tap water. The website link is a bit confusing for a child and does not seem to do much apart from mainly checking the aliens health. The alien has now sat on the side of my welsh dresser for about 2 months with my son taking no interest. It has an annoying light that normally flashes red (meaning its healthy), if the alien is placed in a obvious position - this can become very annoying. Would I buy another one? Definately no, this one is getting very close to being thrown in the bin.

Great alien pets!
The alien was a present for our 9 year old, and we have since bought them for 3 of his friends! It teaches children how to care for things. You place your alien egg in a large test-tube and then feed and expose it to a certain amount of light daily to keep it happy and healthy (a brain-like organ flashes green when it is ok, otherwise it flashes red!)The alien hatches and grows to fill the tube. It says on the tube they 'live' for 14 days but ours was going strong for at least 3 months!
