Comprehensive text on data warehousing
This is a comprehensive text on data warehousing. The author tackles a complicated subject very methodically. The chapters are well organized, sections are easy to follow, and headings allow the reader to identify each concept and how it is broken down. The illustrations are relevant to the content and easy to understand. Examples provided are helpful. The end of chapter summaries and exercises wrap each chapter up and test the students knowledge. Not only was this a good text for the class, but it will be a good reference book for someone who is tackling data warehousing for the first time.

Perfect
This was exactly what I needed. I was able to purchase the book I needed for a masters course at a reduced cost. This was great and I'll look here first for all my future book needs.

It seems more like a good statement of where things were in 2000 ...
I had to read the 2010 (second edition) of this book for a course taken in Feb. 2017. This book feels very dated. It seems more like a good statement of where things were in 2000 that was barely updated for 2010, and in no way is a reflection of the state of Data Warehousing in 2017. I think a new edition is in press or something; hopefully an update will include coverage of topics like data warehouse automation, "citizen" data integration tools, data lakes, and the role of a data warehouse in both producing and productionizing predictive models.

Using it for Graduate School
I like this book. I do not have a IT background yet this book covers complex principles in a way the layman can understand.
